Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Michael Jackson's Greatest Hits Vol 1 is in fact the first disc from his previous greatest-hits collection, HIStory: Past Present & Future, which was half compilation, half new material. Despite missing a few okay songs that were included on the latter half of HIStory, none of the newer songs came anywhere near the magic of Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad or (to a lesser extent) Dangerous from which this album is made up. Starting off with the legendary groove of "Billie Jean", Michael shows exactly how he earned his reputation as the "King of Pop" for there are no album fillers on this 15-track CD. What's more, there are so many not included, as there simply isn't room to condense his very best work onto one single album. Guests include Sir Paul McCartney ("The Girl is Mine"), rock hero Eddie Van Halen ("Beat It") and top producers Quincy Jones and Teddy Riley--great songs, great performers, great moments in pop history when Michael Jackson truly was Invincible.--David Trueman

Customer Reviews

just history repeated3
As a michael fan i own all of his records and then some. however i wouldn't suggest to really buy this album and i haven't either. It's just the first cd of his huge history album. My advice would be to buy that instead, because you not only get all of the songs on this album but it comes with an album of (what was) new material, and in my opinion is a lot better value.

However if the only songs of michaels are the ones on this album that you like then buy this. but value for money history is better

A best of Michael is a best of music.5
Wow, one CD and so many great songs. Michael Jackson may not have released many albums but his back catalogue easily rivals that of The Beatles and Elvis. A Fantastic mix of tracks, every one of the a classic.

Not bad3
As a big Michael Jackson fan, I would reccomend buying this album to have an idea of Michael Jackson's music if you are not too sure. But as I am the owner of most of his music I haven't bought this album because it contains music from from all of the classic albums, Off The Wall/Thriller/Bad/Dangerous. Though if you have no intentions of buying all of Michael's albums then by all means, buy this album.
