Manufacturer's Description
Blast-off with Dreamcast's first-ever networked title: ChuChu Rocket. It's the age-old game of cat and mouse -- with a cyber-twist. Sega makes gaming history by hooking up your Dreamcast to the world. Now you can take on a group of online strangers in an all-out battle over the Internet! It takes only a few minutes to learn ChuChu Rocket.
All you have to do is herd your ChuChus (space mice) into their rocket before the KapuKapu (scary space cats) catch up to them. The game may seem simple, but don't be fooled. Your brain will shift into warp speed amid the fast and furious chasing, mind-bending puzzles, multiplayer teamwork, and your opponents' sneaky tricks. Catch the mystery mice and a timed event throws everyone's strategy out of whack. Whether you play solo, or play the nation, you'll get infected by ChuChu fever.

PLEASE BE PATIENT!!
What can I say,
Sega have proved again and again that innovation, originality and most of all, the creation of video games with that "just one more go" factor are their unrivalled strengths in the games market.
So, Dreamcast goes out with a bow imminently, and as far as I'm concerned with a standing ovation. Chu chu rocket is an example of an excellent game, just like Scrabble or Tetris it does not need fanatasic textured 60 fps graphics or complex depth and level progression. It is a game you will play and play again and the reason is because is is massively entertaining with out sensory overload. It is addictive be warned and you will need to be patient as it is extremely fast and frustrating in some modes until you have got the hang of it.
You will boot the game up and be impressed with the game's layout and overall presentation-(v stylish) but you won't necessarily be impressed with the graphics. But this doesn't matter, get stuck in, play the game to your hearts content and love it. You will not fail to be entertained by the humour in the game, (encompassed by quirky animation and sound effects) however, the game play will simply bowl you over, especially if you got some mates who can either meet you at your match or help cunningly block cats from hapless mice and you get yourself on line.
The game is based simply on cat and mouse chase. The Japanese creators Sonic Team have decided to put the mice in space (off the wall???Aren't they??) who are trying to get to their rockets to escape the pursuit space moggies (Moon Cat?? Beryyyylllll!!!) who are intent on blowing up the mice' rockets or simply scoffing the aforementioned rodents, your job is to simply strategically place left, right up and down signs to help guide the stupid mice to safety (bit like that Amiga classic Lemmings really), tunes chirp along nicely and do not get irritating as you play and there are quite a few levels and team battle and party play.
The mice are hilarious, don't ask me why they just are and you will like this game alot basically, I bought for a quid down the local exchange mart best quid I've ever spent and it is probably my favourite Dreamcast game.
Buy it. I promise you, it's a fiver you cannot go wrong.
ChuChu Rocket!
Sega's (and the world's) first online console game, Chuchu Rocket follows the basic concept of cat against mouse. The object of the game is to guide ChuChus (mice) into rockets by placing down arrow tiles, but while you do this, you must prevent the KapuKapus (cats) from getting in and eating a third of your mouse population. You can do this in a number of modes - 4P battle, Team battle, Stage Challenge, puzzle mode and of course, online mode, which is the best of the lot. You can enjoy the most frantic cat and mouse action with people from all over the world. In the 4P battle and team battle, the names are pretty self-explanatory - go all against all or two-on-two with 3 mates or CPU opponents. Stage Challenge involves having to reach acertain objective in 25 different situations within 30 seconds. In some of these, you are put in control of the cat, and you must eat all of the mice within a time limit! And as for the Puzzle Mode - I think you can work out what you do there...
Overall, the game is pretty good but does have its flaws - namely crap music, slight lag online and sometimes you can get your pointer lost in battles, but I recommend ChuChu Rocket to any DC owner that is considering it!
great game
i got this game for free from the dreamarena portal when it was still running....i would rate it 5 starts but the online play now has gone which was a great money waster for me-i think i ran up like £120 phone bills a month for a while playing this game....its that addictive. although now there is now no online play-this game is simple to get to grips with, and hugley entertaining-a great party game for your DC. the single player puzzle mode had me puzzled for ages...i still havent completed it cos its very hard. a great game, its simple looks disguise its massive addictiveness.
