Another Stomping Mode Classic!
I Feel Loved succeeds where Dream On failed with some superb remixes. CD2 is actually the single that contains the gems namely Danny Tenaglia's Labour of Love edit (lasting for 8 minutes!). One of those classic mixes that sticks to the original melody whilst adding so much more. Fans will delight in the overdubs that include the lead melody from My Secret Garden (originally from 1982's A Broken Frame). A high tempo mix that really exploits the strenghs of this thumping Exciter track. Fans with a trained ear may even recognise the sample from Soft Cell's Sex Dwarf, subtle but excellent. It's the perfect club mix with superb production and worthy of instant repeat plays. One of the best Mode remixes since Andre Parker's masterful take on It's No Good and Danny's mix alone makes CD2 a priority. Depeche Mode haven't sounded this good for ages.

depeche does disco!
The Basildon boys crank it up a gear with the second single taken from Exciter. From the moment I Feel Loved blasts off, it's obvious the Mode mean disco business, a thumping bass line and and anthemic chorus disguise the bleak lyrics (Songwriter, Martin Gore's trademark). Very reminiscent of Bjork's Big Time Sensuality - no surprise when the producer is Mark Bell of LFO fame and long time Bjork collaborator. A fine return to form taken from the brilliant Exciter, just dont expect the whole album to be this up-tempo..it gets a lot darker rest assured!
