Great value box set5
5 Stars due to Tomb Raider II at such a good price - a 4 star review might be a little mean as this is a great value boxed set costing less than each of the three Tomb Raiders cost individually at issue. Even on a rev. B iMac (second generation original) all of these are playable at full resolution and at much better quality than the PSX versions. In addition with this pack you get the Gold versions of Tomb Raiders II and III which were not included with the originals. These are mini-games in their own right. However some are noticeably better than others. I found Tomb Raider II and its Gold levels to be easily the best - the story hangs well and although there are some "padding" levels, generally they are original and well-executed. The original starts off well and being the first is the benchmark, but Tomb Raider III was quite tedious - the first levels are in India and that seems to go on for ages. Thankfully by Tomb Raider Chronicles the designers seem to have realised that less is more and it only has 12 levels, but each one is a gem. As a great value introduction to Lara Croft Tomb Raider Trilogy is a good deal though. The only other significant negative is that these are not carbonised - meaning they will not work natively in Mac OS X or with a gamepad unless you reboot in Mac OS 9 - perhaps not the end of the world.

Great Graphics, Sound, Gameplay and Value for Money5
After playing a demo level of Tomb Raider I, II and III I immediately knew that I had to get the full versions and therefore the TR Trilogy package was perfect. The game includes Tomb Raider I, II and III - plus extra levels for each, that's six games... - what a bargain ! And what a great game Tomb Raider is - great graphics, excellent sound effects and game playing action combining shooting all manner of different nasties with all manner of different weaponery (man, that grenade launcher does serious damage!!!) with platform-like adventure and solving conundrums. Those who like high-speed driving games won't be disappointed either you get the chance to let Lara loose in a speedboat and a on a snowmobile in TR II. I have had this game about six months and so far I am about one third through TR I, two thirds through TR II, on the first level of TR III and I haven't even looked at the extra levels yet! This game represents serious value and many, many hours of hilarious, exhilirating, frustrating, awe-inspiring, amazing game play. In short, it's a must, even for those occasional gamers like myself.
