Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Changing Faces is a dazzling showcase of the best of Louise's EMI years. Encompassing her three solo albums, the collection also includes tracks from her Eternal days. Whilst those times may not have been the happiest periods for her personally, her early work with the all female quartet was undoubtedly her best. Even though solo tracks such as "Naked", "Let's Go Round Again" and "One Kiss From Heaven" did come close to matching the "Always and Forever" days, nothing can really compete with the wonderful harmonies of "Just A Step From Heaven" and "Stay". Her cover of Gerry Rafferty's "Stuck In The Middle With You" though is a wonderful finale to the nine years she's spent with EMI. Other "new" tracks include a lacklustre version of Five Star's 1987 hit "The Slightest Touch" which chugs along rather unremarkably, and the disappointing collection closer "Come and Get It". Ignoring these "fillers" this a brilliant reminder of the golden years in which Louise's scaled the heady heights of the UK's Top 10. --John Galilee

Customer Reviews

Louise never fails to impress!5
Wow! Louise returns after last year's Elbow Beach to deliver a stunning package of her singles to date. This album covers her career from Eternal to the present, which includes her current single "Stuck In The Middle With You" and her re-working of "The Slightest Touch". This is a great album to own for both dedicated Louise fans and those who have liked her songs but haven't purchased any of her previous Cd's.

The inclusion of radio mixes of her singles is fantastic as these versions of "One Kiss From Heaven" and "Undivided Love" are far superior than the album versions. All in all this is a superb package that showcases the impact Louise has made on pop music in the 90's.

Best of nineties Britpop5
Louise is a fine singer who began her career with the group Eternal. She recorded one album with them, yielding the British top ten hits Stay, Just a step from heaven and Oh baby, which peaked at 4, 8 and 4 respectively.

After splitting from Eternal to go solo, she recorded three albums prior to this greatest hits package. The singles released from those albums were very successful, all reaching the UK top twenty and many of them reaching the top ten. Her biggest hits were Two faced and Arms around the world, which peaked at 3 and 4 respectively.

Many of her songs were originals, but she also had hits with Stuck in the middle with you (Stealers wheel), Let's go round again (Average white band) and The slightest touch (Five star). All of these were updated to suit Louise’s style.

Louise is a brilliant singer whose music is well worth investigating, if you are even a little bit interested in nineties Britpop.

Changing Faces- Louise5
This is the type of album that you should listen to before going out for the evening. It includes some tracks from her earlier days in Eternal. Most tracks are catchy and indeed the slower ones are indeed very soulful. This album captures the very best of Louise and she also covers Five Star's The Slightest Touch- which she has done so very well. Top marks
