Amazon.co.uk Review
Although Graham Norton does warn of impending "rudery" at the start of Live at the Roundhouse, he never really plunges into the murky world of "blue" comedy. In fact, much of Norton's stand-up is cheeringly similar to his routine on the Channel 4 series The Graham Norton Show. He chats with audience members with a cutting yet strangely inoffensive manner. He's deliciously insincere, shallow and vain--about himself and the world at large (or as Norton puts it, "a problem shared is gossip!"). And he's best when he's riffing off the top of his head like a Variety Gala Eddie Izzard. The pre-prepared routines don't quite have the charm and sparkle of the Norton we know and love for sheer spontaneity, but there's still lots to cherish; the difference between gay and straight lager, clothing crises and extracts from a diary he'd written at sixteen are particularly hilarious. Best of all is the atmosphere that Norton generates at the Roundhouse, which transfers perfectly onto the small screen. Waves of hilarity ripple through the crowd, especially when he gets out Kittyphone to call a personal ad with everyone happy to be in on the joke. --Ian Watson

Customer Reviews
Very funny video from the very funny Mr Norton.
I've never seen Graham Norton doing a stand-up show before, but my god he is fantastic! This vid lasts one hour and six minutes and I laughed litterally all the way through. But I cant help feel sorry for the bloke in the front row, who Graham spends nearly the whole show coming on to, this is a must see. I HIGHLY reccommend buying this video, it may be a little expencive for a stand-up show, but it is well worth the money, as I guarentee you will watch this over and over again!
Brilliant. Pure genius!
I have no doubt that Graham Norton is a genius, though perhaps not of the conventional kind. His routine in this video is brilliantly done, and despite the rudeness, it is good-natured and Nortons personality is utterly absorbing. You should buy this video if only to see Norton's unique brand of audience interaction, or when he reads from a diary he wrote at the age of sixteen. The mark of a good comedian is the ability to talk about something the audience can relate to, and bring out the humour in this subject. Graham Norton does this superbly. Buy this video and you will be in stitches.
average at best
graham norton is a pretty funny man,he was of course a fine character as father noel in father ted and from there has pushed on as a household face, this was recorded back in 2001 when he was a newish commodity but isnt that great if im honest.
I think it suffers because he doesnt have any second prepared and tends to fall apart when he reaches out to the audience for some interjection,in the parts that he has written he does pretty good but isnt as bawdy as some would have you believe .
There was the odd entertaining moment for sure but i didnt think he was at his best here.
