Amazon.co.uk Review
Taped as a lavish cable television special in 1997, One Night Only trades on the Bee Gees' shape-shifting career as pop survivors. Over the course of 111 minutes, this straightforward concert, produced at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and groomed for both video and CD posterity, sprints through 31 songs from their past three decades. Even after the inevitable disco jokes are expended, and the jaundiced viewer contemplates the role hats, hairspray, and comb-overs now play in dressing the once stylishly long-haired troika, the Gibb brothers' signature vocal harmonies and hook-laden song craft beg respect.
Casual listeners can't be blamed for equating the Bee Gees with the dance floor bonanza they reaped through 1978's Saturday Night Fever, yet that commercial zenith was actually the culmination of a comeback for a group that had seemed washed up by the early 1970s. One Night Only thankfully takes an even-handed view of both their original late 1960s hits ("Massachusetts", "To Love Somebody", "Lonely Days"), building from a cannily Beatle-browed vocal sound, and the 1970s blue-eyed soul ("Jive Talkin'", "Nights on Broadway") that led them naturally into disco. The Fever hits are here, as are Gibb originals that clicked for other acts; the family circle also widens for a posthumous duet with their late brother, Andy Gibb, while Celine Dion gets star billing in the collaborative "Immortality". --Sam Sutherland

Synopsis
The Bee Gees reunited in 1997 for a "One Night Only" concert at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, their only live concert in 1997 and first U.S. concert in nearly 10 years. Together they performed their greatest hits from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, including many songs written for and made hits by other artists but never recorded by the Bee Gees themselves. Hold you breath for the special guest appearance by French-Canadian diva Celine Dion.

A Reason To Buy DTS!
The Bee Gees have always been great performers, but this is their career topping concert. Four decades of songs are showcased here with impeccable harmonies and a first class band. The highlights are the guest appearances whether ala 'Nat King Cole' style or real like Celine Dion. Yup, Franki Valli and a tear-jerking Andy Gibb can be heard here as well as the Celine highlight. There is too much and too little as great songs like, "Nights On Broadway" and "Guilty" are cut short, but the typical 'Bee Gees song medley' and the 'Night Fever/More Than A Woman' segment made up for that. In retrospect, the concert could have had more lighting effects, but, geez, the sound is just so good, you wonder if it really makes a difference. This was a historic event.
A non stop tour of the Bee Gees
This is one of the few chances to see the Bee Gees in concert and performing live. Each of the one night concerts were exceptional and this one is no different. They attempt to cover alot of ground from early to modern day bringing their work to many in the audience who will never of heard much of the older disco songs. This is an essential purchase for any Bee Gees fan.
The greatest concert from the greatest group of all time....
And I was there! At least, not at the concert which was recorded for this video, but for the One Night Only in London. A lifelong Bee Gees fan, I was expecting a great night, but could never in my wildest dreams have imagined what I got. Everything you see on the video is exactly what you got. An immaculate performance enjoyed by a crowd that spanned three generations, who were on their feet from the first note to the last, and who sang along to all the songs.
Love 'em or hate 'em, they are consummate professionals who have been around longer than me, and it just keeps on getting better! Long may they continue.
