Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Big Boi and Dre Presents... Outkast is not so much of a greatest hits, more of a refresher course for a group with a history nearly as long as their debut album title (Southernplayalisticadillacmusik, anyone?). It showcases the hits from their four studio albums, including 2000's Stankonia, which finally saw them gain recognition outside the world of hip-hop for their brand of genre-switching southern beats and flamboyant personas. Presents... is a glimpse into a style of hip-hop that owes as much to George Clinton's Funkadelic mothership as it does to the wider world of rap with funk workouts (Funkin' Around) be-bop jazz (Movin' Cool) and adrenaline fuelled rump shakers (B.O.B), as well as Miss Jackson, the single that deservedly brought them into the mainstream. Presents... is a great introduction to a group that seems to be hitting their stride, with a lot more to come. --Chris Blenkarn

CD Description
Essentially a greatest hits album, this collection also features three unreleased tracks. It is the follow up to the platinum selling studio album, 'Stankonia', by the Atlanta, Georgia rappers. The no.1 single, 'Miss Jackson', is included.

Customer Reviews

Outkast is to advanced for thier time4
Outkast have been renowned for making heavy albums but if you listen close 2 their previous albums playlistic, Atliens and Aquemini they are on the same level as artists making records now Aquemini took them to another level every track bangs like a wutang album if your just discovering the Kast i'd recommend listening to the albums newest to oldest released. Also if you like Atliens listen to the Deltron 3030 record another classic.

The Whole World Loves It When They Make That Sound4
For nearly ten years, Andre 3000 and Big Boi have grown from underground to mainstream commercial hit makers. I bought this album on the strength of their new split album "Speakerboxx/The Love Below" and the memories of the songs from the Stankonia record.
Now this CD is not necessarily a greatest hits record, instead it refreshes those who have followed them from the days of "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik" right up to the new millenium. I haven't really followed Outkast for that long, but i think they have the ability to make a southern funky vibe sound like it was made for radio waves.
Granted some songs here will not appeal if your not into slow paced beats, and my opinion "Aquemini" is very boring track with a chorus that makes you snore, but the rest is just brilliant.
Witness the the hooky "Ms Jackson" and the bass/drum song "B.O.B" from the worldwide success "Stankonia" and songs from previous releases. My favourites have to be the new song "The Whole World" and the mainstream favourite "Ms Jackson".

Worth a listen if your a first time listener

A perfect introduction to Outkast5
Outkast has been out there for a while. It was trhough their hits 'Ms. Jackson' and 'Whole Wolrd' that they gained more attention from the mainstream.

This album gives you these 2 tracks plus a 'best of' of their previous work. I own all their albums and have been a huge fan since their ATLiens album.

If outkast just started to get your attention buy this album. All tracks are dope. Absolute stand-out classics are:
- Rosa Parks
- Aquimini
- Elevators
- Git Up, Git Out

I also like their new material (Speakerboxx and Idlewild), but it doesn't compare to their older work. Buy this one!
