While it's easy to explain the concept of Sega's brilliant cat-and-mouse puzzle game ChuChu Rocket!--players use arrows to guide cute little mice (ChuChus) into rocket ships and help them avoid evil, hungry cats--the game's appeal comes from a complex union of many small, simple well-done elements.

The game's graphics and sound are both fairly rudimentary. The GBA version looks much like the original Dreamcast version of the game, which isn't saying much. Like Tetris and other puzzle games, graphic quality is a minor issue here. A major issue is that you can build, save and actually trade home-made levels. Most of the appeal, though, comes from intense strategic frenzy. You've got to place arrows to redirect the fast-moving mice, and, hopefully, redirect any hungry cats that are on their way to eat your mice. This can get crazy in single-player mode when approaching the goals set for each level. When the timer runs out or the goal is reached, the rockets blast off and you proceed to the next level.

And though the single-player game is loads of fun, ChuChu Rocket! really shines when you grab a link cable and connect with up to three friends. When all four of you are placing arrows to redirect mice into your rockets, and are directing cats into opponents' rockets (cats that enter a rocket steal mice, or points, from that player), you'll be laughing hard the entire time. There's nothing quite like it in gaming and, best of all, you only need one game cartridge for the four of you. --Andrew S Bub

Chu chu rocket - high scores for replay value.
The concept of chu chu rocket is so simple it's one of those games that is fun to play, no matter where you are, and how long you're playing it for. - It's not hard to see why people describe this as the new tetris, it's equally as addictive.

With 2500+ puzzles designed by players of the original dreamcast version already on the cartridge, it's almost certainly the longest gameboy advance game on the market at the moment, and if that wasn't enough for you, you can create your own levels and characters, and even trade them to other versions of the game, so even if you manage to get through all the puzzles, you can then carry on playing by attempting other people's creations.

As with the dreamcast version of the game, however, the real appeal is with the multiplayer mode. So much happens at once in this that it's impossible to track everything, and you find yourself fighting just your corner of the level, which means dirty tactics are plentiful as people try to take points from other players without them noticing. Random events make the action even more frantic, so you're not likely to get bored of this quickly.

Definately worth a look, this is the perfect game if you want something you'll be playing in a years time, or if you have a link cable.

Absorbing
I bought this title having enjoyed the Dreamcast version . I wasn't disappointed . As well as the normal levels of play , there are a multitude of individual 'designer levels' ( some of which I'm sure can't be completed ) which add longevity to the game . This was an important plus point for me as there isn't anyone to play multiplayer games with in my usual vicinity . It's also a very easy game to pick up and play for five minutes , then put back down again - so ideal for any situation where you might have time on your hands , for instance a coffee break .
All in all - recommended .

A really good game
A really good game that has outstanding difficulty and reasonable graphics. The gameplay is quite difficult to understand but the amount of levels make it a really great game.
