Amazon.co.uk Review
Super Mario World for the SNES sits at or near the top of most "best videogame" lists for a reason. At the time of its release it was a dramatic evolution of the side-scrolling Mario series of action-adventure games, incorporating every gameplay element that worked in the older titles while adding a seemingly endless supply of new tricks. This new feature-complete version for the Game Boy Advance proves just how timeless designer Shigeru Miyamoto's 1990 classic really is.

In true Miyamoto fashion, the game starts with simple running and jumping and gradually gets more complex. Soon you're swimming, flying, tossing fireballs, and riding one of several Yoshis--cute little dinosaurs--that appear throughout the game. The overall level design has yet to be exceeded in a 2-D platformer, with each colourful level packed with enough secrets to keep players busy for weeks. A lot of precision jumping is required, but the controls are so tight that directing Mario (or even Luigi, who wasn't playable in the original) becomes as natural as breathing within a few minutes of playing.

As if packing the entire original game onto the tiny cartridge wasn't enough, Nintendo have also included two multiplayer versions of the original Mario Bros, which are playable solo or with up to three other people using Game Link cables to connect all your Game Boy Advance systems. Both variants are a blast, but the single-player adventure is what kept us coming back for more. If you missed Super Mario World when it appeared for the SNES, don't make the same mistake twice. --T Byrl Baker

"A massive game world and some of the tightest level designs ever. Stone-cold classic."

Great game - But what happened to Mario 3?5
This game is essentially a replica of Super Mario World for the SNES with a few extras thrown in, such as the extra sound effects and Luigi's higher jumping (as well as a modified introduction animation/screen at the start).

All the levels appear to be there from the SNES version and it's an absolute joy to play. The controls are easy (the spin jumnp is now used by pressing the left shoulder button by the way) and the graphics are pretty much identical to that of the SNES version.

There are only two small things I don't like. Firstly, what happened to Mario 3? That was also a good game in my opinion and it would be a shame not to convert it to the gameboy advance.

Secondly the size of the screen can make getting to some of the secret exits a little more difficult than when the game is being played on the SNES, as part of the top and bottom (and possibly the sides too) are cut off when being played on a gameboy. Nintendo have obviously tried to solve this problem and to be fair to them there isn't a problem 99% of the time.

That said, I still think it's a brilliant game and well worth buying.

Oh...my...god...this...is...amazing5
The name pretty much says it all. It is a Mario World, or it is as big as one. 96 levels of pure class. I absoloutely adore mario games. I have all the Nintendo consoles and I have almost every Mazza game. This has to be the best, the biggest and the bestest, ok, it is'nt a word but this game deserves new words to be invented for it, it is that good!. When it first came out on the SNES, this caused a national phenonemon. I didn't expect it to do as well the second time round and it hasn't but that doesn't stop it from being one of the best games of all time. This has to be up there with classics like Ocarina Of Time, F-Zero and the almighty Mario Kart for the SNES. If you don't know what to get for your GBA, this is a game to get. Mario always has had the best games on any Nintendo console so don't mess about and waste time with dirge like The Lord Of The Rings or Scooby Doo get some all time classics such as this, Mario Advance 3 and Mario Kart: Super Circuit. I have never gone wrong when buying Mario Games and I certainly didn't when I bought this babey. Amazon.co.uk have an amazing deal going for £24.99! My daily diet at the moment is Mario Advance 2 for breakfast, lunch and supper and I'm sure it will be for many weeks to come!!! Come on, buy it!

Another hilarious game inspired by Mario!5
I have been affiliated with Mario games since June of 2005, and I'm still obsessed with these games. I don't understand why other individuals don't like it, or have lost interest in it. Let me tell you, I have been looking for this game since the day I have became a fan of these games. I went to every electronic store that I can think of, even the used game shops. I suddenly lost hope of finding the game, and I was about to burst like Krakatoa, and was extremely frustrated, until I came across a store in Portland, Oregon, called EB Games. I went in there, totally naive about what I would find. It has changed my gaming career for a long time to come. Yes, I found Super Mario World. When I played the game, I thought it was an amazing game, full of adventure, though I haven't completed the game yet, but I know some advantages, and disadvantages of this game. One of the advantages of this game is that there's new "Mariomonsters" that are indeed strange in a special way, like Lakitu, and Rex, etc. Another thing is that it has Yoshi. Yoshi has been my favorite Mario character ever since I was introduced to Mario. I like his abilities like making eggs etc. Ok, these are the disadvantages, (mostly about Yoshi). Yoshi can't flutter kick. That means he can't jump very far, and he has minimal intelligence, like he keeps running when you get off, he will keep going until he falls off a cliff. This game is pretty cool, and I am looking forward in completing the game, so get the game. You will love it. Super Mario World will eventually make you a fan like me.
