This imaginatively titled release contains both footage of Rage Against the Machine in concert and uncensored versions of six of the group's videos. This isn't quite the value for money it might sound, since most of their videos are heavily reliant on concert footage anyway, and in a couple of cases it's difficult to tell one from the other.

That said, the concert footage, taken from a few different RATM shows, is crisply shot and conveys enough of RATM's intoxicating (if one-dimensional) ferocity to be effective. A couple of the videos are also worth seeing, if only because they wouldn't have much hope of getting played on television: the clip for "Freedom", especially, is a clever and acute retelling of the story of American Indian Movement activist Leonard Peltier, shortly to complete his third decade of imprisonment.

On the DVD: Rage Against the Machine on disc has a choice of stereo sound or Dolby Digital 5.1. English subtitles are available on most tracks. Special features include a track selector, contacts for organisations with which RATM are sympathetic, and a book list largely comprising indigestible polemical tracts of the sort often bought, but rarely read, by the earnest students who constitute Rage Against the Machine's core audience. However, given that most bands use any spare capacity on their DVDs to flog T-shirts, RATM deserve credit for trying something different. --Andrew Mueller

Synopsis
Their name is fairly self-explanatory -- a hard rock-punk band with leftist political leanings. Simply put, Rage Against The Machine are, well, angry. This volatility and passion has lead the band to make music that is both moving and important, and an active and dedicated fan base attests to this. Rage Against the Machine - The Greatest Ever Live Band?
Really, there isn't much to say about Rage that hasn't already been said. This DVD is a re-release of a video that's been doing the rounds for a while now, and it serves as a reminder as to how amazing Rage were. The disk is a collection of some of the best Rage performances between 1994 and 1997, plus the uncensored promo videos for all the big hits. The disk opens with 'The Ghost of Tom Joad' played live, and ends with the promo video for 'People of the Sun'. Between the two you get a host of live performances, the highlights of which include 'Bulls on Parade', 'Bombtrack', 'Know your Enemy',and, of course, 'Killing in the Name.' Seeing some of the early promo videos shows how groundbreaking Rage were, and proves that in the decade since their conception no-one has ever done rap-rock with such power, conviction and downright talent as Rage. But then, you already knew that. In reality, it's worth double the asking price just to see Tom Morello play the solo to 'Know Your Enemy.' Importantly, it is also far better than the much more readily available 'Battle of Mexico City' disk. Buy it now, and be reminded exactly why you love Rage in the first place. Not only the best political band in the world, but possibly the best band in the world, full stop. First class!

Get yer moneys worth
To start with, the sound quality on this DVD is perfect, having hooked up my dvd player to my Stereo, the quality was crystal clear, and none of this out of sync rubbish which I've heard about on other Rage DVDs.

The Main gig on this DVD has a great selection of tracks and goes on for a fair amount of time, and, as a extra brucey bonus, it also includes 6 tracks from another performance held at the Democratic Convention 2000. This Isn't just a bit of filler for the DVD, its almost like another whole gig (well, a bit shorter) If by now, you still havn't had enough RATM, then there are a couple of extra music videos to watch, "How I could Just Kill a Man" and "Bombtrack".

Having never had the chance to see them live, this DVD is the closest I will ever get to that, and It does a damn good job of it too.

Fantastique...
All the performances on this DVD are utterly captivating. You get the whole of their last ever gig which includes such standards as "killing in the name" and "how i could just kill a man" with the added bonus of cypress hill. The sound quality is excellent and the crowd motivation and activity is great.
However, this is a better addition in my opinion than just the gig itself, the inclusion of footage from the democratic national convention 2000. For me it optimises all what rage stood for, combining their primal sound in the backdrop of corporate America. It shows (from the looks on the police's faces) the sheer ferorcity with which rage can perform.
Overall, i highly recommend this DVD. It shows a band at the height of their powers, unfortunately i never got to see them live, but this is a great testiment to the band and contains peformances which are both powerful and awe-inspiring.
