It's been eight years since the first spectacular Podracing showdown between Sebulba and the young Anakin Skywalker. Seeking payback for his humiliating loss, Sebulba has a new beefed-up Podracer--and a lust for revenge. But it's not going to be easy: Anakin has grown into a boldly skilled Podracer pilot. Thus the stage is set for Star Wars: Racer Revenge, bringing newer, faster, and even more dangerous Podracing to the galaxy and taking you on a one-way ride to ultimate victory. Jockey for position with a tangle of Podracing opponents or leave the pack behind at intense, nerve-jangling, planet-scorching simulated speeds of up to 600 mph. Crash and bash competitors into oblivion as you take them out of the race for good.

Amazon.co.uk Review
Originally released for the Dreamcast and Nintendo 64, Star Wars: Episode I Racer was a decent title with its share of flaws--most notably its control and graphics. The game's PlayStation 2 sequel, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, addresses many of the original's shortcomings and is a vastly superior product. Rainbow Studios--known for strong racers such as ATV Offroad Fury and Motocross Madness--took over the development reins for this game; their prowess at creating racing games is evident as this title features much better controls and more compelling races than the original. Furthermore, it gets a nice graphics upgrade that showcases the capabilities of the PS2.
Game modes include Practice, Single Play, Tournament, Time Trials and Versus. Tournament mode is the bulk of the game; it can be beaten in less than three hours and isn't particularly difficult. Replay value is added by requiring you to beat Tournament Mode multiple times to unlock all of the game's secrets. Oddly enough, the game's sound--usually LucasArts' forte--is hampered by an unusual effect: at times you'll get the full Star Wars treatment with John William's score and cool sound effects totally capturing the feel of the movies, but other times you'll hear only the sound of your engine. The environmental audio is an interesting choice that wasn't executed very well. Audio and brevity issues aside, this game is one of the strongest Star Wars titles released for a console. --Raymond M Padilla

A worthy addition to your collection
This game is nothing like the rubbish Star Wars Racer, this is faster and more exciting. More Tracks, more characters and better graphics, this is fantastic!
Two rivals return for the intergalactic race of the year
Sebulba is back! It's been 8 years since the most dangerous Dug of the podracing circuit was last seen, after his legendary defeat at the hands of Anakin Skywalker. Now the two rivals return to face oneanother, and Sebulba has one thing on his mind: revenge.
With new and interesting vista's, players of the game are treated to a variety of familiar and new characters to race as, which makes every race an energy-binding experience!
Absolute waste of money.
I enjoyed the original racer on PC, sure it was too easy and you hardly saw the other racers but it was fun to test your reflexes against the incredible speed of the track.
Somehow, lucasarts have created a game that has worse graphics and worse gameplay than the original. The course design is so bad that it is often impossible to see where the track goes so you find yourself heading in the wrong direction or colliding with walls that appear a nanosecond before you hit them.
Check out Wipeout 3, that is a visual feast, this makes the PS2 look like an N64.
Finally the worst, most annoying thing is that the commentator is painful to listen to. You will cringe when he says "boy that's gotta hurt" in a cheesy american accent for the 50th time.
Do yourself a favour, spend your ... on MGS2, SSX tricky, GTA3 or any other game because this is pure...
