CD Description
After gaining new audiences with his 2001 album 'Alive', legendary singer/songwriter Terry Callier releases his ninth studio album 'Speak Your Peace'. Callier continues with his trademark sound of folk infused jazz, but adds a modern twist, by collaborating with drum 'n' bass duo 4 Hero and Paul Weller.

Spiritual king delivers his next sermon
A new album from the spiritual king of jazz, funk, soul. On first listening not to the same standard as his earlier 'time peace' but on closer listening still infused with the same messages and groovy hooks as his early work; just moved up to the modern world a little. The first track sets the scene to this lovely recording and the duet with Paul Weller on 'brother to brother' is just devine as is 'tokyo moon'. Moments of quiet rage on 'darker than a shadow' and 'Seira Leone' complement proceedings somewhat. There are also moments of humour if you search for them.
Anyone who has not seen this man live (currently on tour) should do so at once. You will not only witness some old fashioned (now!!) musical craftsmanship but also be moved to a higher state of grace. Thank god this man was born.
King at last
Terry has arrived. A little late I might add. I have known Terry through my forays into the world of Northern Soul (He's always been my favourite). This is quite simply stunning. The vocals are like oil pouring gently through sand. The collaboration with Paul Weller on Brother to Brother is inspired, so inspired it made my cry, that's right I cried like a baby.
