Editorial Reviews

CD Description
This is the second album album from former Fu Manchu drummer Brant Bjork. It follows his 1999 debut solo album 'Jalamanda'. Collaborating this time with his backing band 'The Operators', who include Shneebie from the Earthlings, this self titled album is a mixture of classic rock, funk, and psychedelia. More accessible than his previous solo work.

Customer Reviews

chilled and err...................different.5
If youre familiar with Brant's work you will be very surprised by this! Gone are the pummelling guitars, thunderous riffs of Fu Manchu and Kyuss and in come clean guitars, softer drums and an all round good times ambiance.
If you have Jalamanta, Brant's first solo effort this may not come as much (!?) of a shock but this is extremely mellow. It does keep some of the old remains from his previous bands; the fun loving, good times vibe of Fu Manchu's music and the songwriting skills and hooks of Kyuss songs.
You cannot group this, the closest thing it could be described as is Stoner pop, but thats still pushing it.
Try it out for yourself, it rocks, it puts you in a good mood and its just pleasant to listen to.
Brant Bjork fans will not be disappionted. Genius!

Kick back, streach your sack, this kicks ass5
Brant's latest installment to his own legend is the most chilled out, groove-laden journey ever. Any fan of the old Kyu, Queens, or infact any music you can just chill out to will LOVE this. I swear you wont of heard anything like it and never will anywhere else. There are an awsome range of material, with tracks like Hyinda 65 which are slow, blusey bass-driven trips, and Joey's Radio which have a more rock and roll element. Either way, one of the best new albums out.

Brant Bjork5
Brant Bjork, of Fu Manchu and Kyuss, teams up here with the Operators trio producing this great sounding album. Individual from the sound of both Kyuss and Fu Manchu but offering a very great and likable product. His solo album Jalamanta from 1999 is very strongly reccommended, as a must for Brant fans. He is a truely great drummer, one of the very best of his genre.
