Customer Reviews
the return of the NWO,it didnt really work
No way out 2002 was an event that was very hyped due to the return of hogan, nash and hall under the guise of the NWO,a stable that dominated WCW before WWE bought it over and closed it down, this was indeed big news, they were however quite annoying as they opened the event with a time killing plea about how they had changed and the crowd werent that bothered about them until hogan spoke, but this wasnt the best way to open the event.
The event should have kicked off with the opening match of the night which was a tag team turmoil match for the number one contender for the WWF tag team championships. The six teams involved were the APA,Christian and lance storm, scotty 2 hotty and albert, hardy boyz, billy and chuck along with the dudleys. This match was frantic and enjoyable,it seemed to be over in a second but lasted 15 minutes or so,this is indeed a good thing and i was very content with it.
Rob van dam fought goldust next in a fairly good contest, one of my fellow reviewers states that this was his favourite match of the night, i found this to be average, they shared some chemistry granted but the match looked akward in places and this is what holds it back in the end.
The WWF tag team championships were contested next as the champs spike and tazz went up against booker T and test. This match included the odd botched move which is a shame as this wasnt the worst match i have seen, the two teams didnt gel that much but each contained enough quality to cry out for better which we didnt get.
The intercontiental championship was contestect next in a brass knuckles on a pole match, meaning that the first to get the brass knuckles could use them. The champion at this point was william regal and he went up against edge yet again. This match was ok,not great, the brass knuckles barely featured which undermines the value of the stipulation in my opinion,an ok match but it was clear that this feud had no gas left.
The rock went up against the undertaker, this feud had been brewing and this match and while this was short of being a classic it contained some good spots and a good desire,it was actually the first time that the lacklustre crowd warmed up,a good enough match but more was expected and more was achieved later on.
Kurt angle fought triple h next with stephanie mcmahon as guest ref, stephanie had at this point alligned herself with kurt as opposed to her husband so this made for an interesting match on paper. This match turned out to be something special,it was certainly eventful, most definately good and contained some great moments of wrestling brilliance, job done.
The undisputed WWF championship was up for grabs next as stonecold steve austin went up against the champion, chris jericho. This match was pretty good but not as good as it should have been, the outside interference was very annoying in truth and killed this slightly,it was all meant to look so good but in the end was a bit lame and tame, not the best event in truth but worthy of some recognition.2.5 stars.
SIMPLY THE BEST...................
The best PPV of all time. It marks the return of the NWO to the WWE. Hogan, Nash and Hall enter the arena to announce that they are reformed characters and the fun begins. Needless to say they come fact to face with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
This is certainly one worth watching, however, it is becoming extremely scarce, but if you can get hold of a copy, then do so. You will not be disappointed.
wwf no way out 2002
this is a great dvd and i recommend this to any wwf/wwe fan
tag team turmoil winner gets a shot at tag titles at wrestlemania 10/10 this is the best match of the show i think.
goldust vs rob van dam 6/10 i dont really like goldust so that made it bad but rob van dam is 1 of my favourite wrestlers and made this match a lot better but over all it is not an amazing match
triple h vs kurt angle stephanie mcmahon special referee 7/10 triple h and kurt angle are trying to kill each other this is a very good match
william regal vs edge brass knuckles on a pole for the intercontinental championship 8/10 great match all the way through except at the end when regal gets brass knucles out of his trunks not the pole and cheats to win
tazz and spike dudley vs booker t and test 4/10 how did spike dudley and tazz get the tag titles in the first place they are rubbish and booker t & test do not make a good team
the rock vs the undertaker 9 1/2 /10 this is a great match and they even take it back stage, they beat the hell out of each other
chris jericho vs steve austin 5/10 i dont really like how this match went and ended very poor match by these superstars!!
this is a good ppv but is spoilt by a few matches but overall i do recommend this
