Amazon.co.uk Review
Open Your Eyes may have arrived too late to salvage Goldfinger's career. Only the shrewdest music fan will remember that Goldfinger once threatened to trouble artists such as No Doubt and Sugar Ray in the charts. The band's commercial stock has dipped since the American success of 1996's smirking ska-punk hit "Here in Your Bedroom", but, despite several key line-up changes, the members have worked hard to maintain a respectable level of belligerence in their music. If they were only younger and worked off those beer guts (and perhaps wore less clothing) they would undoubtedly give Blink-182 chase with adrenaline-packed songs such as "Open Your Eyes" and "SpankBank". And if all were right in the world, "Fuck Ted Nugent" ("I wish that he'd be gone / Chauvinistic Republican kills animals / He forgot how to write a song") would find a comfortable home on the radio. --Aidin Vaziri

Can't go wrong!!!
I bought this album quite a while ago and the album is regulary listened to. Tracks such as January, Decision, it's your life, but to name a few are catchy and very well executed. I had not heard much about goldfinger except the songs, open your eyes, spokesman, 99 red balloons, and superman. I saw them live on their last tour and i am seeing them again this year. I love their music. They're fantastic live and very funny. I recommend this album to anyone who loves punk music. P.S they have finished recording their new album. it shoud be out this year. Can't wait.
Another amazing accomplishment!
This is positively one of the best albums I have ever heard in my life! From Going home all the way to FTN its just excellent, some people do not like the politics involved in this cd but i just think there excellent. Spokesmen (also featured on the newest installment of the video game Tony Hawks 4) is probably one of the most well known song they've produced. The style of music i just can't place into a catagory but draws to Punk. The new songs have been created with lots of enthusiasm and the attitude the album has is a negetave one towards depressive, a lot more negative compared with previous ones but it still lightens up my day and is a great listen.
To anyone who likes any sort of punk I suggest this! It won't be long till your walking down the street with your c.d. player singing along to this!
A brilliant album
I had heard the song "Spokesman" before and it drove me to buy the album. I thought I would get it home, play it a couple of times, and then it would never see the light of day again. I was very much mistaken.
I mixes all great punk elements from sum 41 to bands like blink 182. The song "dad" is also a ballad, so it has a great mixture. I would recommend this album to all true fans of punk.
The best track are: "Spokesman" "Open Your Eyes" and "Happy". It has a German version of "Spokesman", and you should listen to the prank phone calls and "Wayne Gretsky" that come after it.
If you also watch the enclosed video "Free me" you may never eat meat again.
You must buy this CD!!!
