CD Description
Remastered version of this Glasgow band's debut album from 1987. 'Up For A Bit...' confirmed their position as leading lights of the 'C86' scene (named after an NME compilation tape). In retrospect the album was a shot in the arm for the Scottish music scene and without them it's unlikely we would have had Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub or that Creation Records would have become so influential.

Seminal lo-fi pioneers
The Pastels have been peddling their own unique, awkward, critically unaclaimed nonsense for nigh on two decades, inspiring every Indie band from Scotlamd and beyond.
Highlights are the alt. country twang of 'Crawl Babies', the gorgeous 'Address Book' and the sonic assault of 'Baby Honey'. Anyone who likes Johnathan Richman, Orange Juice, Belle & Sebastian and Bis, should have this in their collection - this is the missing link. Although some of it hasn't aged too well, it's still well worth a go.
