Customer Reviews
Funkin' out in every way!
What can i say that hasnt been said before? Funk music remains, in my opinion, the most expressive, groovy, yet relaxing music ever! And this album is the best exemplar of these virtues! It has everything! Every track exudes funk to its very core; sweet, sweet, (oh man, they're sweet) riffs over fantastic rhythm parts with basslines to die for. Look out for track 13; King Curtis (The Daddy) and his band perform a 7 minute live improvistation that is so funky, the Aussies can smell it! The quality of the recordings is fantastic and the talent that is displayed here is, in my opinion, unequalled on most other funky compilations.
Funk Drops 2 is a must have for any funk-lover, music-lover, or eclectic out there. If you ready to embrace anything this year, embrace this.
I'm not gonna force you, but hey, you'll be the one missing out if you don't. As for me, well I have a dancefloor to be getting back to.

Killer Funk Cuts
this album has everyting, i dont know where to start. it is even better than volume 1 and at this price it is a steal.
for me the stand out tracks are 'king curtis', 'Society's Bag', 'Dr. John' and Kissing my love by cold blood has some heavy beats indeed. also have to mention 'the champ' by the mohawks as i dont think it has been on CD before now.
Some of the tracks aren't the most obscure and difficult to get hold of, but once its in yer player, its staying there.
