The Marathon Winner
What a release! 20 superb alternate and rehearsal tracks in brilliant sound quality. A must for Elvis fans knowing that these recording sessions influenced his August 1970 Vegas concerts and displayed on video releases such as Thats The Way It Is and The Lost Performances. Hear the unedited and unspliced versions of A Hundred Years From Now, complete with some coarse but humourous language. Superb early takes of Bridge Over Troubled Water, I've Lost You, Love Letters and I'll Never Know, which always show the song very different to the polished released version. Buy This Now!
Elvis' Studio Perfection
This is an outstanding example of Elvis' great work in the studio. The alternate takes reflect his passion for perfection and enjoyment. Tracks particularly strong are "I've Lost You"; "Bridge over Troubled Waters"; "Mary in the Morning" and "Life".
Sound quality is superb with Elvis' voice prominently powerful. The band - with the brilliant James Burton evident throughout -remains an essential element of the successful Presley formula.
A "must have" not only for the ardent fan, but also for the casual fan looking to hear the "Great Man" truly at his very best in the studio.
The "King" at his very best
Another winner from the FTD series - sound quality is superb. The alternate takes of "I've Lost You"; "Life"; and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" are particularly outstanding.
Throughout all 20 tracks, Elvis' voice is as always very powerful - and delivered with great passion and perfection.
The band - with the brilliant James Burton prominent- are an essential element of the Presley formula - and never more so than on this outstanding production.
A "must have" not only for all ardent fans, but also for those casual fans who want to own a CD of the "King" truly at his very best.
