The Nikon F55 - A beginners Dream
This new fully featuered Camera from Nikon offers a superb start for beginners and expert alike.
I have been using SLR cameras for some 10 years and welcomed a chance to own a new Nikon. Money was tight so I sought out a camera that offered good performance and a fine lens at a comeptive price. I chose the Nikon.
The camera is ready to use from the box, it is already set up for fully automated photo taking. I took my camera from the box, took four films on the standard setting and two films on manual. To say that every picture was perfect would be an exageration but the colour sateration, the focus and the definition are all superb. Of the films taken (incl B+W), a total of approx 150 photos I have identified 78 that would make a strong addition to a new prospectus I am designing for the local school. Of the rest these are presentable and usable but the photographers eye was less than perfect.
Excellent purchase, great for new starters and offers full facilities for an expert. RECOMMENDED
A great camera!!
I bought this camera as I needed one for my travels and also have an interest in wanting to get into photography. Obviously I wanted a decent camera but not something that difficult that I would not have a clue how to use! I found this easy to use as the autofocus is invaluable; it's just point and shoot. There is then the manual setting where you can mess around to get the image you want for more advanced stuff including night, landscape, close-up, portrait and sport (rapid snap, snap, snap). I found that the picture quality is superb compared to any other photograph I had seen previously. I am still using the original batteries with no sign of them letting up, even with the camera's blinding flash!
The camera is attractive, nice to hold and comes with a great Nikon strap. The price is very reasonable and the camera's worth the money. All in all: I'm very pleased with my little photo machine!
Great Camera & Great Value
When I was looking for a SLR, I had a list of cameras it constantly became smaller and smaller. I ended up getting the Nikon F55, for a few reasons:
1. Its a great make, Nikon is well known to produce great cameras, which this is. If you ever wanted to rent out a really expensive lens, they usually only have Nikon or maybe Cannon Lenes to rent out, having a Nikon is great benifit.
2. Its simple but very good, there are many features which are great, but they are also simple to use, if you dont know much about SLR's this is a great buy, you can use it as a point and shoot, flick it on Automatic, on Auto Focus and point and shoot, but if you are more experienced (perhaps over time you will!) you can change the settings and become more involved and then you will still love the F55.
3. The value is amazing! A great SLR at a great price, lots of SLR Bodies cost lots of money, but there is no point in getting a £1000 body and a £100 lens,as you will be restricted by the lens, the lenes are the most important, save money on the body and spend it on the lenes!!!!
One suggestion is to buy it with the 70-300 lens, it only bumps up the price by about £30-50 when the lens on its own costs £120!
Buy it!
You wont regret it!
