Review of the "A Walk to Remember" movie soundtrack5
There are two ways to judge this CD: you either look at it as a independent CD or as the soundtrack of the 2002 motion picture A Walk to Remember featuring Shane West and Mandy Moore

A good CD on its own?

As an "independent" CD, this is a very solid collection of songs. Only hope by Mandy Moore is probably the best song by her, You by Switchfoot easily rank one of my favourite song ever (easily the best song of the CD) while other songs like Learning to Breathe by Switchfoot, Someday we'll know, a duet by Mandy Moore and Jonathan Foreman, the lead singer of Switchfoot, or If you believe by Rachael Lampa makes this a very good CD even if you haven't seen the movie.

What about as a "A Walk To Remember" CD...

Personally, I absolutely loved the movie (which is why I purchased this CD); the movie was full of emotions, easily one of my favourite movie of all time (if not my favourite). And the CD doesn't disappoint AT ALL... it really reflects the movie perfectly. Each song you listen will make you remember of a scene of the movie: Only Hope will make you see Jamie performing in the Spring play, Someday we'll know will have you picture Jamie and Landon dancing at Jamie's home, you will remember the time Jamie was at "two different places" when you'll listen to Dancin' in the Moonlight and You, the best song of the CD, will make your heart remember in how much distress Landon was... This CD does an excellent job of portraying the movie.

If you loved the movie like I did, you owe it to yourself to buy this CD, trust me, it's worth it... it's like a continuation of the movie. A kind of follow-up. If you didn't like the movie, then I still think that you should give this CD a chance as it features an excellent collection of songs.

I give this CD a 5 stars because I truly loved the movie and the CD is as full of emotions and as good as the movie was. It's doing a great job of being the "A Walk to Remember" movie soundtrack. If you remotely enjoyed the movie... you'll fall in love with this CD. Highly recommended.

Love it love it love it!5
I bought this soundtrack after watching the movie. I collect soundtracks - most of my cd collection is made up of them, and I thought the music in the film was good .... but the cd changed my mind. It's amazing. It's even better than the film! There's rock, ballads, there's everything for everyone. Even if you didn't like the movie, I would suggest buying this soundtrack. The music is phenomenal. From Mandy Moore, to the indie rock persuasion of Switchfoot.

Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I've never watched a film for the soundtrack,until now!!!!5
I was in America for the first time, working at a Summer Camp, and I had my first paycheck and decided to spend some of it on a trip the local store!! I decided to buy a cd and for some reason 'A Walk to Remember' appealed to me! I think some of Mandy Moore's songs are quite good, so I thought, why not! I went straight to track 6 'Only Hope' and I absolutely loved it! The next day I decided to play it from the beginning and I was so surprised at how good the soundtrack was and how fantastic Switchfoot are (who sing quite a few songs which are brilliant on the cd)! It was only after I started to listen to track 13 I realised that it was the same song as number 6!!! Completely different style yet just as good! One of the other staff members came into the cabin while I was listening to the music and said 'Oh my gosh thats from A Walk to remember! have you ever seen it?' I said no as it hadn't been out in Northern Ireland yet and they said I had to see it and the next time we were off she was going to buy it on tape and persuade the director of the camp that the next day we were off if we could watch it!! He let us and I absolutely loved the film completely!! I was looking forward to going home so that I could buy it on video (as video tape formats are different in USA from ours) and I looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it and I was dissappointed as I was so sure it was being released into the cinema's the same time I left for NY. A week later we were sitting at the dinner table when I heard the opening of Switchfoot's track one 'Dare you to Move' and I swung round to stare at the t.v with half of my dinner falling to the floor! To my luck it was a cinema trailer for the film, which was opening in cinema's that weekend. You can guess where I went!!

This soundtrack is really fantastic, every song brings memories from the film and if you haven't seen the film, it makes you want to see it!! Trust me!!! Buy this CD!!!! I listened to it, which attracted me to the film and on Christmas morning I received the equally beautiful book by Nicholas Sparks.
