Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Said to have extended their recording contract, things look set to continue for Westlife despite the "kiss of pop death" that is the greatest-hits collection. Unbreakable features the very best of their first three albums, their Top 10 hits and the lead single and title track, which was newly recorded for this album. It includes memorable covers, such as the Christmas single "I Have a Dream" by Abba, the duet of a Phil Collins song with Mariah Carey ("Against All Odds") and, like Boyzone before them who did "When the Going Gets Tough", the Comic Relief charity record "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel. It's quite impressive that half of the songs here have hit the top spot as an A-side, making it a far more appealing album than any of their others, as there simply isn't room for the customary fillers that litter such artists' albums. So with their past encapsulated on one disc, it's time to look to the future for Westlife, although with lessons learnt from Take That's Greatest Hits, Boyzone's By Request, Steps' Gold and possibly the Backstreet Boys Greatest Hits, no one should be holding their breath. --Georgina Collins

A great collection
Greatest hits are usually a bit dull if you already own all their other albums, but this is different! This contains all their single remixes (Fool Again's different on their original album), plus six new tracks, including Unbreakable, and the new single Tonight. You can see how they've progressed as a group, from their early days with Swear It Again, to their latest smash Unbreakable, where they sound so much more grown-up. Of the new songs, they all have single potential, but I love Love Takes Two. Mark takes lead vocals and excels, and the lead guitar is brilliant too. Written in the Stars is a very atmospheric emotional song, bound to appeal to any fans. All in all, a great album, worthy of any collection.
They just get better and better!
When I told my mate who's also into Westlife that I was getting this CD, her reaction was, "Why do you need it when you've got all of their other ones?" Well, this album is a must for any serious Westlife fan, and also a must for any light westlife fans, for the simple reason that it gives you all their greatest hits (obviously) AND several great new songs.
So if you liked Westlife's released songs but was a bit wary of getting an album, this is the answer. I have to say that apart from World of our own, which I've always hated, I love every single song on this album! The great thing about it is, you know what you're getting when you buy it, but there's also an additional six songs, including Unbreakable, which add that extra twist to what would otherwise be just an ordinary (if you can use that word about Westlife) greatest hits album!
Umm yeah
I'm rather odd, coz I like bands like "Puddle Of Mudd", "[Spunge]" and "Har Mar Superstar", yet I own all of Westlife's albums. I would say that this album is definitely worth getting for the following reason: "LOVE TAKES TWO". LoL. No joke. Mark's soulful lyrics really win the battle for me. Not surprisingly he also features heavily on "Flying Without Wings". "Tonight", recently released, got to number 3, is also pretty great.
If you don't like pop or Westlife you will, certainly, HATE this album.
However, if like me you do, you'll like it, just for the new songs at least. Quite frankly some of their best songs haven't been released as singles, so you'll have to buy the albums. Honestly, you'd think they could release the ones that are a bit different coz there's actually some quality stuff buried away if you look hard enough. "Angels Wings" for example.
If you don't like Westlife read the review that says: "Unbreakable? Not with a hammer" coz that would be right.
"Love takes two"!! The best track by far. (Excluding Flying Without Wings which anyone buying this will already own for sure!) hehe
