Customer Reviews
a killer event
This event is great,i feel happy to start this review with that statement,i have watched this several times and only one match seems lame to me,you will find out later which match that is,this event if i remember rightly had hype,it had even more than that in truth and it raised its game when the moment came, great stuff.
The event opened with intent with kurt angle vs rey mysterio, perhaps angle in particular could feel sore that he opened this event but it didnt show,it was a great match between two men who absorbed the atmosphere and played their part in what was a great night.
Next up was ric flair going up against chris jericho, this match was sublime and showcased that at that jucture flair was more than ready to challenge what lay ahead, both men had their moments but in the end the submission moves came into play and i was very happy with the outcome.
The quality didnt drop with the next match either ,edge against eddie guerrero, what a match,i feel both men shared a chemistry that we rarely get the luxury to see, great match indeed.
The wwe tag team championship was up next with the short lived champs the un-americans ,lance storm and christian going up against the somewhat shoved together team of goldust and booker t,this wasnt the greatest tag match you will see but the un-americans were in truth alot better than their rivals but at the same time dust and t looked ok together but lacked that certain something,a decent enough match but it wont blow your hair back.
The quality came to a glorious high with the intercontiental match that followed, the champ chris benoit went up against rob van dam in a high flying, highly skilled and a great example of all thats good about two men who know each other inside out, quality stuff.
Next up was the worst match of the night, dull and numb and dull again, the undertaker vs test,i hated this match if i am being honest, the fault lay at the feet of test of course who will not go down as a legend in my opinion, the undertaker is an icon and i could throw superlatives at him all day,he is not the issue here but these two shared nothing but a ring and looked uncomfortable around each other, terrible.
Next up was an unsanctioned, they used that term to death though,as if its true, streetfight between shawn michaels and triple h,this was a good match, wasnt perfect, bloody enough for those that love that and there was some great moves incorporated in as well,it was a bit epic but not to the point where you need to get up and walk around to stop your legs falling off,not world class but good nonetheless.
The main event followed, and was for the undisputed title, the champ, the rock going up against a man on a roll if ever there was one, brock lesnar, this match was good but at times i question the rocks interest in this match, his body language was not at peace with itself here, lesnar was a machine during his time with the WWE and tonight was no different, watching this enforces the notion that he was a man to believe in,he was a powerhouse who had skills that didnt appear obvious upon first glance,a great match when you throw everything together and a great event,it can be hard to beat the summerslam event when it comes knocking.

Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Kurt Angle
Good fast paced opener, but could have been given a little more time.
Mysterio's entrance was great too.
8.5/10
Ric Flair vs Chris Jericho
This match was decent, but I think Flair was too slow and couldn't keep up with Jericho.
6.5/10
Edge vs Eddie Guerrero (R.I.P)
Better than their match at Unforgiven, an entertaining wrestling match, definetly worth a watch.
8/10
WWE Tag Team Championship
Lance Storm & Christian (c) vs Booker T and Goldust
What can I say? Fairly decent tag match, but I like the ending because that big boot of Test is powerful :P.
6.5/10
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Rob Van Dam vs Chris Benoit (c)
These two are great wrestlers, and Benoit is just excellent. Needless to say great match, don't know why but the IC championship just didn't look right on Benoit.
9/10
Undertaker vs Test
This match was average, and I don't think it was worth UT getting in the ring with Test because UT is talented and quite frankly Test is not. Bit of a stupid storyline if you ask me.
6/10
Non Sanctioned Match
HBK vs HHH
This match was freaking awesome! These two always put on awesome matches and I will always remember this match. Loads of great spots including, HBK using the ladder (he was the innovater of the ladder match) and Hunter using the chair to do some pretty sick moves including a DDT on the chair and a backbreaker! Love the spot where HBK dives of the ropes onto HHH through the table. If your not intrested in any of the other matches at least buy it for this match or buy From the Vault The Shawn Michaels Story it has this match on it aswell.
10/10! Match of the night.
Now onto the main event...
WWE undisputed championship
The Rock (c) vs Brock Lesnar
This match was a great match as well, but its second place compared to the HBK/HHH match. I like watching the Rock anyway but I didnt like him losing it after just a month. Brock Lesnar was a breath of fresh air, and the towards the end I really got into this match. Great spot with The Rock giving Heyman a Rock Bottom through the announce table.
