Lionel Richie - Encore5
Well! What can I say! I know, absolutely fantastic! Lionel's 9th album, and possibly his best! It's almost like a compilation CD, but each song is performed with such variety of the orignals, and of course, the crowds wild cheering adds to the effect!
And the two new songs are amazing too. 'Goodbye' is a slow emotional song, which attempts to describe the feelings associated with losing someone, and realising that somethings you thought were forever can come to an end. And 'To love a woman' with Enrique is brilliant, with both singers performing in perfect harmony! Roll on the single release!!

In conclusion, buy this album!

Ladies and Gentlemen...Lionel Richie5
When I was 13ish, my brother bought The Commodores Live album. At the time, only a handful of people knew the name of their lead singer, Lionel Richie. I was amazed and loved the energy that came across through each track. Today, years later, I eagerly awaited the international release of Lionel's live CD, Encore. WHEW! I've seen the Commodores live 4 times and Lionel as a solo artist just as many and this CD captures the joy and down home spirit of his shows. He takes you back to Brick House and brings you up to date with Angel. He rocks the house with Don't Stop the Music then rocks you slow with Easy. I must admit, I don't care too much for Tender Heart, but the live version makes it bearable. If you've never purchased any of Lionel's music, but you've been curious, this is the one to get. You'll probably hear songs that'll make you ask, "He did that??" plus, you get a great performance, to boot! I'm sure the CD was edited, because some great stuff was left out. No Endless Love, I Don't Wanna Lose You or Truly (there should be a law about not doing that one). One I would have loved to hear live is I Forgot. If you haven't heard it, find it. If you're in a troubled relationship, listen hard. The verses are standard, but the chorus is packed with healing words. There are two bonus tracks...I'm at a loss for words. Lionel! Encore! Encore!

An absolutely superb live album!!5
If Lionel Richie tends to conjure up images of terrible 80's videos with clay heads then read on!! In these days of processed pop groups and 'talent' shows it makes a nice change to hear a performance that can excite and move you from a genuine artist.

The first thing you'll notice is that the dynamic range and recording are top class. The CD was recorded over a period of 3 nights at Wembley Arena and it has been expertly committed to disc. The crowd creates a genuine party atmosphere on tracks like "Dancing on the Ceiling", "All Night Long" and "Brick House". But there are some intimate moments too, in the slower tracks "Stuck on You", "Three Times a Lady" and "Still"

The last 2 tracks, not recorded live, include a catchy duet with Enrique Iglesias, rounding off a superb listening experience. If, like me, this is your first Lionel purchase, then have no fear. Buy it, buy it now!!!!
