In Kate's Cardio Combat, the winner of Big Brother 3 Kate Lawler certainly looks the part; with a tanned and toned body, blonde hair and a natural affinity for cropped tops and trousers. Though obviously intended for women who want Lawler's body, and men who might want a physique to attract women with great bodies, it's unclear as to exactly whom this will really appeal. Lawler might claim this is for men who wouldn't be seen dead in a leotard doing yoga. But will they be seen dead flaunting this title on their shelves?
Trainer and copresenter Rhydian Lewis has created a 50-minute all-round session intended to work heart and lungs, burn body fat, develop strength, and tone the body. The session starts with an energetic warm-up and goes into press-ups ten minutes into the session, moves into lively kicks, then targets abs and thighs, and finally winds up with a cool down. It'll certainly work up a good sweat, but whether it wows or not depends on the extent to which Lawler can occupy the viewer's attention. Despite clearly lapping up the novelty, Lawler is by no means a natural presenter. Trying too hard to impress with lame comments and exaggerated facial expressions, she is too self-absorbed to engage in any playful interaction or flirtation--which is, after all, what she's best known for.
On the DVD: Kate’s Cardio Combat on disc comes with an extra ring workout where Lawler finally loosens up and is more natural and playful. As for the so-called interview, this amounts to Ms Lawler articulating a few sentences on allocated subjects. On Big Brother: "one of the most exciting experiences"; on love: "It scares me"; on boxing: "I really love boxing." Anyone who voted for her will wonder why they bothered. --Lorna V

What can i say i needed to get fit and wanted somthing that would keep me interested and not get me bored aftwer a couple of times. This did the job.
I'm not that fit and struggled with the warm up and the warm up was fast and hard,but didn't last to long, and really got my heart pumping.
Ten followed a cardio strength and calorie burning workout which is fullof punching,kicking and boy was i sweating.Then followed a abs and thigh workout and a cooldown. At the end you feel you have really worked out and can ache a bit the next day.
I have used this video for a month now and i can see and feel a big difference-well worth it.
I'm not to sure if it would be suitable for beginners or not though.Kate i thought would be annoying but she's not(she does not speak much which is probably why)And Rhydian apart from being well fit is areally good instructer.
I totally recomend it.

My sister introduced me to this video and boy am I pleased she did! I workout regularly anyway but this is something different.
Boxing orientated, the punches, kicks, and jabs are a great way to get rid of the days stress. The main cardio section is high impact but its over before you know it, not for beginners but I recommend it to anyone short of time who wants to tone and lose a few pounds in time for that summer bikini! 3 times a week and you'll see (and feel!) the results after 2 weeks. The day after I first tried this I couldn't sit down! Kate is capable but leaves the instruction down to him.
Great cool down with loads of stretches. I'm on a high after doing this video.
FAB workout - wouldn't be without it!
Alrighty then, where do I start??
OK, firstly, let me say that I have read alot of the amazon customer reviews on this vid and despite, at times, finding myself agreeing with some of the "negative" comments, I LOVE this dvd and would recommend it to anyone. Tis true that Rhydian does miscount at times, that Kate does make slightly weak comments, that their moves don't mirror yours if you follow their left/right instructions and that the music is on the slightly annoying side, but I always feel SO much better for doing it and noticed positive changes in my figure almost immediately.
I bought this video shortly after it came out and the first time I did it, I was sure I was going to die!! I couldnt complete the abs and thighs section and was exhausted. The next day I was in complete agony - raising my arms was near impossible - but instead of giving in, I decided to persevere. As soon as the aching stopped, I gave it another go and lets just say that ive never looked back. My fitness has improved no end, my figure is in much better shape and I can complete the whole video, and complete it well!!!!
Warm up - brief, but I liked that. Gets your heart racing and ready for the next section.
Cardio and fat burner - Varied, lots of fun and great for the arms!! This also included some stretching, so you still manage some more "warm up", if you felt the actual warm up was a little brief.
Kicks - a fairly brief section, but challenging (especially the grab-knee-back-right-left-right! Phew!). Nicely teamed with some punches so more work for the arms.
Abs and thighs - toughy, but the results are superb. Really concentrated and gives a great workout! If youre not super fit, you will undoubtedly struggle with this at first, but with time it will become easier and its very rewarding.
Cool down - slightly long, but a must as it prevents you from hurting the next day any more than necessary (and you will at first!).
Overall, I love this workout and immediately noticed positive effects. It is fun, challenging and I liked both Kate and Rhydian. A good four years down the line and, along with going to the gym, I still swear by this vid! Give it a go!
