Amazon.co.uk Review
In Kate's Cardio Combat, the winner of Big Brother 3 Kate Lawler certainly looks the part; with a tanned and toned body, blonde hair and a natural affinity for cropped tops and trousers. Though obviously intended for women who want Lawler's body, and men who might want a physique to attract women with great bodies, it's unclear as to exactly whom this will really appeal. Lawler might claim this is for men who wouldn't be seen dead in a leotard doing yoga. But will they be seen dead flaunting this title on their shelves?

Trainer and copresenter Rhydian Lewis has created a 50-minute all-round session intended to work heart and lungs, burn body fat, develop strength, and tone the body. The session starts with an energetic warm-up and goes into press-ups ten minutes into the session, moves into lively kicks, then targets abs and thighs, and finally winds up with a cool down. It'll certainly work up a good sweat, but whether it wows or not depends on the extent to which Lawler can occupy the viewer's attention. Despite clearly lapping up the novelty, Lawler is by no means a natural presenter. Trying too hard to impress with lame comments and exaggerated facial expressions, she is too self-absorbed to engage in any playful interaction or flirtation--which is, after all, what she's best known for.

On the DVD: Kate’s Cardio Combat on disc comes with an extra ring workout where Lawler finally loosens up and is more natural and playful. As for the so-called interview, this amounts to Ms Lawler articulating a few sentences on allocated subjects. On Big Brother: "one of the most exciting experiences"; on love: "It scares me"; on boxing: "I really love boxing." Anyone who voted for her will wonder why they bothered. --Lorna V

Could be better2
I have just completed this dvd, for the first time, and feel a little disappointed. I was expecting it to be a bit more energetic. I am reasonably fit and could manage all the exercises, however I found that some of them weren't demonstrated or explained very well, and some put a lot of strain on your back. I don't feel that I have worked out as much as I would have liked, and the instructor was awful. He couldn't count and was out of sync with the music. Kate Lawler looks great, but she clearly didn't get that body from doing this dvd. Perhaps she has been secretly doing Davina's!!!

On the shelf gathering dust!2
I bought this DVD a few months ago based on the positive reviews on here and because I enjoyed the boxing sections on Davina's DVD's so much but this DVD is rather dull. It doesn't really get your heart rate up and after completing it you don't particularly feel like you have worked very hard (and it's not that I am super fit and therefore find it too easy). I can't imagine it burns that many calories.

Rhydian is a bit monotone and he gets his counting wrong quite frequently which is annoying but if he doesn't motivate you then the close up shots of Kate's super toned tummy will.

I have worked out to it 3 or 4 times and both my flatmate and I agree that it's not very motivational or energetic and doesnt work you very hard. However, I will say that the abs section at the end is quite demanding and does work your tummy quite hard.

On a positive note, I think this DVD might be a good introduction to exercise if you are a complete beginner.

Not a patch on Davina or Natalie Cassidy's DVD's so don't waste your money.

Could try harder3
I'm fairly fit and was told this one was a killer. However, i felt let down. My back hurts a bit and my arms got a good workout, but i didnt really work up much of a sweat from the Cardio section.
Instructer was fairly mono-tonned and unencouraging too.
I found Natalie Cassidy's 'Now and then' work out more of a killer, and if you are looking for something that will get you out of breath and work up a sweat then that is the place to go, although its not that fantastic for arms and abs and sometimes i may go over sections to really tire me out.
