Customer Reviews

mixed like allsorts 3
No mercy 2002 was a mixed event, that much is certain, some great matches and some poor enough ones, and a great hell in a cell match but some have called it disappointing,so this event divides the viewers just as much.
The match started with christian and chris jericho, who were a great tag team, against goldust and booker t who lasted longer than some thought for the wwe tag team championship, this match was ok,i liked the work of jericho and captain charisma ,while goldust was in the ring alot longer than booker t,an ok opener when all is said and done.
Torrie wilson and dawn marie were up next and this feud went on and on culminating in the death of torries father, what a terrible storyline, anyway this match was just a shambles and i hate it,lets go one step further!,i loathed it.
Rob van dam was up next against ric flair, this match wasnt that good, now we all know i have time for both of these athletes but rob van dams pace was a problem for flair and made this match a bit topsy turvy, flair slowed it down after a while but it was clear there wasnt gonna be much room for these two to go on a worthy feud.
Jamie noble and tajiri went up next in the cruiserweight championship match and this was a great match, some will say different but noble isnt a bad wrestler,he has nastiness down to a tea with an energy and bravado that meant he deserved his role in the wwe, kinda like greg helms then.
Next up was a unification match, the intercontiental champion kane against the wwe champ triple h,this match was decent enough,at times it was very good but they didnt balance the brilliance with the great, more like the great with mediocre, the interference spiced the match up but overall the winner shouldnt take you by surprise.
The first ever WWE tag team championship belts match followed, after a series of matches we were down to two teams who would battle it out to be the first ever champs, the teams involved were kurt angle and chris benoit going up against edge and rey mysterio, this was a match that ran over 20 minutes and was just great, end to end stuff, energy levels seldom dropping and a great level of compatibility being shared, only one winner though but a great match was had by all.
Trish went up against victoria for the womans title next in a match that rarely registered in my mind after, but i know this ,avoid.
The main event followed, hell in a cell, the champ brock going up against the undertaker, this match stayed in the cell unlike the takers legendary match in the same enviroment with foley some 4 years earlier but i felt this was very high in quality, the taker had his moments but like so many of lesnars rivals at the time, couldnt find enough to tear the man to shreds ,lesnar in years to come will be fully appreciated as a man that had a match won before it began, his era of dominance was one of the most believable of all the reigns and the undertaker couldnt contain him that night,oh yes,if you want blood, you will get it and then some, mixed event for sure but some great stuff found as well.

No Mercy 2002!4
Tag Team Championship
Chris Jericho & Christian Champions vs. Booker T & Goldust
A good opener but nothing special until the rope breaks, which is what this bout will be remembered for. 7/10

Dawn Marie vs. Torrie Wilson
A average match with two non-wrestlers. 5/10

Rob Van Dam vs. Ric Flair
Flair was a little slow in this one, and couldn't keep up with Van Dam's wrestling style. 6/10

Cruiserweight Championship
Jamie Noble Champion, with Nidia vs. Tajiri
A very good match, with innovative moves. A decent match overall. 8/10

World Heavyweight & Intercontinental Championships Match
Winner Take All
Triple H vs. Kane
An above average match. Some well-placed interference in this one. 7/10

WWE Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals
Edge & Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit
Match of the night. Great match with loads of new tag team moves. Great. 10/10

Women's Championship
Trish Stratus Champion vs. Victoria
Crowd didn't really know who Victoria was. Better than Torrie/Dawn but still average. 6/10

Hell in a Cell WWE Championship Match
Brutal match, and I consider it to be one of my favourite Cell matches, as it wasn't a spot fest, and they stayed inside the Cell. 9/10

DVD Extras:
12 Bonus interviews - Pre-Cell ones with Undertaker, Heyman, Lesnar and Tim White
After match ones with Edge, Christian, Dawn Marie, Trish Stratus, Victoria & Rob Van Dam.

Tag Team Tournament highlights (Edge & Rey Mysterio vs. Ron Simmons & D-Von Dudley, Benoit & Angle vs. Los Guerreros)

Trick or Pete and the making of the commercial.

History of the Intercontinental Title.

Overall a decent PPV with good extras. I would actually rate this DVD 4 and a half stars. Better than the disappointing Unforgiven. Worth a buy.

What an epic event!5
I saw this event and now since it is on video and DVD, it is better than ever! The great opening match was the Tag Team title match from RAW with Booker T & Goldust taking on the newly crowned champions, the so-called "king of the world" Chris Jericho and his partner, Christian. Chris Jericho's music says for him to break the walls down. He came close, he bounced of the middle rope and the turnbuckle pretty much exploded! The match continued even though they had to survive without the middle rope. The night went on with the Diva match of Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie. Torrie's dad, Al, had been having a bit of a relationship with Dawn for the past month, so Torrie was hoping for revenge. Next, the high flying Rob Van Dam took on the 16-time World champion, Ric Flair. At Unforgiven, Flair hit RVD with a sledgehammer so pain would probably be in the air, not to mention a 5-star frog splash, for Flair. The cruiserweight championship match took place with the champ Jamie Noble and his girlfriend Nidia took on Tajiri. High-flying, fast action took place. The Intercontinental and World titles were unified next with the Intercontinental champ Kane facing the world champ Triple H and they had had a rivalry has big as my review! The intercontinental championship would no longer be defended after this match. Smackdown!'s tag team tournament came to a climax at No mercy with Angle and Benoit taking on Edge and Rey Mysterio for the new WWE tag team titles. In a huge match, Victoria challenged Trish Stratus for the Women's title in a hard battle. The HELL IN A CELL match took place with the Undertake taking on Brock Lesner for the WWE Championship in an almighty bloodbath! In the DVD is the history video of the intercontinental title, the advert for NO MERCY named "Trick or Pete" and the making of the advert, 12 interviews and highlights of the tag team tournament. This was an event beyond belief. Watch it or it will have No Mercy on your soul!
