This Pilates dvd is the perfect way to shape up. I have now been practicing this workout three times weekly and friends and family have all commented on my now trimmer figure. As a dancer, it has improved my performance skills and given me a greater confidence in my body.
I have tried Lynee Robinson's other Pilates videos in the bodycontrol series and if you too have become bored with the slowness of the workouts you will enjoy this video. Some of the classical pilates exercises remain the same but with added 'twists' for example performing 'the scissors against the wall is much more fun! The workout is challenging but as you become used to the exercises it becomes easier to accurately perform each stretch. An added bonus is that because it is a dvd, you can skip any of the exercises that you wish to or you can repeat a particular exercise as many times as you wish. The format of the workout is much more 'modern' with contemporary settings and even some funky music! The workout is split into two seperate sections with an aerobic-type warmup routine preceeding each one.
I would recommend this workout to anyone who wishes to tone their body, increase muscular strengh, achieve better alignment/posture and circulation. It is an enjoyable workout as you can really feel the muscle-groups being worked without the fear of causing injury to the body or over-exertion. It is a relaxing way to completely change your body for the better, if you can commit to regularly using this method as your form of exercise alongside some aerobic-type of workout you will not regret it. With it's new exercises and the challenges that each exercise session brings, increasing the ability to perform each exercise and strengthen muscles has improved my life in several ways: i find it easier to relax, i feel much more confidence in my body and in my awareness of my body and I have lost a dress size.(Always a bonus!!!!)

I managed only to do the first workout. This DVD is divided up into two 35min workout, which you can do on alternate days or together to extend your workout. It also comprises of great advise on worm-ups, posture and saftey. I did feel the effects after doing the first workout, but felt that some of the moves were advanced for me as a begginer (i.e. having my hands on the floor, whilst both feet on the wall, elevating my legs). I would recommend this DVD to someone who has already done a few sessions at home and wants to change their routine or add to it.

I really enjoyed this dvd, having previously tried other pilates dvds which were a bit rushed, this one really makes you feel stretched, toned and relaxed.....
The low impact warm up is a good idea as well, and helps me feel like i'm burning a few calories..
A great dvd for beginners, I hope she brings out a more challenging one, so that I can move up a pace...
Its really helped with the mobility in my very stiff neck, and for that alone, its worth the money..
If you're into high impact aerobics, this is not for you, but if you want to improve your suppleness, strength and flexiblity, this dvd is perfect..
