You Can't Hit a Cow's Backside With a Banjo!
I brought this game off Amazon a few years back and I can honestly say I waited eagerly for it's arrival. Having been such an avid fan of the Lethal Enforcers series on the playstation 1, I had high hopes for Gunfighter 2 TLOJJ. Sadly these hopes were not to appear. Now don't get me wrong, this game is very much like the Lethal Enforcers games but with a far superior arcade look and feel. The graphics are superb and the sound and music is very authentic.
My problem with this game lies with the fact that "YOU CAN'T HIT ANYTHING WITH A LIGHT GUN!". Now to fully explain my meaning, I have 3 different lightguns at home, one is the best you can get, the other is the cheapest and the least popular, with the 3rd being the middle of the road peripheral. So you can see I have a wide spectrum when it comes to lightguns. Now I am a seasoned light gun veteran, I completed Time Crisis 2 in the arcade using only 3 credits, and yet, no matter what gun I use, I can't hit the targets properly. I calibrate and calibrate till the cows come home but even when I finish calibrating and test it out, each time I fire at the crosshairs the hit area is moving all over the shop.
I do know exactly how lightguns work and have tried to elliminate anything that could be causing this effect, but I have Time Crisis 2 and Crisis Zone and they work splendidly with all three guns in any condition. I have found that unless you use the Shotgun weapon in Gunfighter 2, which needs to be unlocked by the way, you can't hit a barn door.... Well actually you CAN but you'll probably be aiming at the guy stood next to it.
In summary, this game could have been an excellent game but this problem with the lightgun system being used just leaves you swearing and spitting at the screen because your accuracy sucks, even when the gun's aimed right down their throats you'll hit nothing but air trust me. You end up using the pad instead while your treasured, and expensive, lightgun just sits gathering dust. If you hold accuracy in high regard and don't like being blamed for killing civilians when you know damn well you were aiming at the bad guy, Buy Time Crisis 2 or Crisis Zone instead!
Fire your weapon
This game kicks ass. It really is a work of superior quality. The only thing that really spoils it is that it doesn't include support for the Eye Toy.
bang
a classic western shoot em up just like playing in the arcades.
