Against all the odds the death of original singer and soul of the band Bon Scott didn't signal the collapse of the bandhe co-founded. Instead the selection of Brian Johnson as Bon's replacement drove AC/DC on to greater heights. After themasterpiece that was 'Highway To Hell' they surpassed it with 'Back In Black'. Crammed with hard rock classics 'Hells Bells', 'You Shook Me All Night Long' and 'Rock 'n' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution', 'Back In Black' is a true rock classic and a fitting tribute to Bon Scott.

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
The death of the lead singer would spell the end of most bands. But most bands aren't AC/DC. After Bon Scott's overindulgence in alcohol lead to his undignified end, lead guitarist Angus Young and Co. simply found a singer that sounded exactly the same and carried on. The result: Back In Black, the most successful album of their lengthy career. Like every other AC/DC album, it doesn't deviate from their trademark sounds: loud guitars, basic boogie and vocals that sound like they are being screamed out by a buzzsaw. But never before (or since) have they gotten the formula so consistently right: "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Rock 'N' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution", "Hell's Bells" and the title track are among the best hard rock songs ever. AC/DC never experiment and never innovate; they just rock. No other band even comes close. --Robert Burrow

Where Have You Been?
A rare review in that I won't even metion the music. Search the web and you'll find that this is the world's second best selling album ever (second only to Thriller). You don't need a review, you now know everything you need to know. If you're still reading this you simply need to get a copy of the album and catch up with the rest of the world - you can't fool a planet - it really is that good.
A classic that deserves to be called a classic.
AC/DC are vastly becoming one of my top 10 favourite bands, they have so many great songs and albums and Back In Black is a fantastic Rock N Roll album. To be honest there isn't a massive difference in Brian Johnsons vocals and Bon Scott's vocals so why the big arguement on who's better they both are great vocalists.
Onto to this fantastic Rock N Roll album, all the songs are brilliant so you can listen to this album without skipping a song. Brian Johnson's vocals are excellent, Angus and Malcoms Guitar playing are brilliant(all AC/DC fans should know that). Best songs are Hells Bells, Let Me Put My Love Into You, Back In Black, You Shook Me (All Night Long) & Rock N Roll Aint Noise Pollution.
This is a great AC/DC and deserves to be called a classic rock n roll album. New to AC/DC? I suggest starting off with their debut High Voltage and carry on from there. Awesome album by a Rocking band!!!!!!!
Hard rock classic!!!
Looking back at the state of rock in the '80s there are to my mind very few rock albums that came out of that decade that can rightly be called classics. To be honest aside from Guns N Roses 'Appetite For Destruction' this is the only other album from that era that still sounds brilliant todsy some 25 years on.
As far as I'm concerned you can't even begin to call yourself a rock fan if you do not own this album. Every song from the opening tolling bells that introduce 'Hells Bells' to the finale 'Back In Black' never lets up every song being aweesome and it is one of those albums that no matter how old it gets will stay fresh forever.
Brian Johnson may not be as iconic a rock star as the late Bon Scott was but he belts out each song with gusto and the trademark AC/DC riffs are all there on each song. As well as the classics 'Hells Bells' 'You Shook Me All Night Long' songs like 'Have A Drink On Me' and 'Shake A Leg' are brilliant my favourite track on the album being 'Giving The Dog A Bone'.
As I said before if you consider yourself to be a rock fan you must have this album in your collection.
