Amazon.co.uk Review
Orange of skin and furry of chest, Tom Jones has been wowing the crowds since he first walked away from the green, green grass of his Welsh home and into the hearts of housewives the world over. Jones rode the 1990s kitsch revival and, with the release of 1999's Reload, proved himself one of the music industry's most powerful and entertaining survivors. A collection of duets and collaborations with various contemporary stars of pop, rock and indie music (the Stereophonics, the Cardigans, Cerys from Catatonia and Robbie Williams, to name a few), Reload put Tom Jones back on the musical map for a whole new generation of music fans. Highlights here include his cover of Portishead's "All Mine" with the Divine Comedy, his exuberant take on "Mama Told Me Not To Come" with the Stereophonics and the playful "Are You Gonna Go My Way" with Robbie Williams. --Ted Kord

Reload
More cheesy than the cheese board at the annual general meeting of the cheese farmers held every year in Cheddar you still can't deny that this album is a "must have" for any half decent record collection.
Collaboration albums have been done before this offering from the legendary Tom Jones, but few I would guess have done it with such panache and flair. Taking in almost every possible musical style from the funky disco version of Talking Head's "Burning Down The House" with The Cardigans to the dramatic orchestralisation of "All Mine" with The Divine Comedy. From the big band sound of "Baby It's Cold Outside" with Cerys Matthews to the smouldering heat of the jazzy blues version of The Kinks' "Sunny Afternoon" with Space.
Jones more than holds his own with the vocal talents of other collaborators on this album, Mick Hucknell, Heather Small, Van Morrison and Chrissie Hynde all feature.
It really is the perfect summer bar-b-que music and has something for almost everyone. Personal favourite is the perfect window open driving song "I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone" with James Dean Bradfield of the Manic Street Preachers which is just a perfect mix of guitar led rock and singalong pop.
RELOAD Again and Again...
Reload is cut from a little bit different cloth than most other Tom Jones CD's I have heard. It offers a variety of music styles: Rock, R&B, Funk, Country and even a hint of Dean Martin in Baby it's Cold Outside. Each song performed with guest artists, an incredible pool of vocal and musical talent. I enjoyed every song on the CD. Different is not bad at all, especially in this case, different is fun and exciting and haunting and sexy. I'm hooked!
Quality sounds from Mr. Jones
This is a great album of top notch songs sung by Mr. Jones, with the added extra of the other vocalists/bands as well. Every song is a winner. This is a must for driving in the car on an open road.
