SOF II5
One of the most looked forward to games of 2002, Soldier of Fortune II is one of the best First Person Shooters available on the market, and at an incredibly low price.

Following the success of the first game, SOFII places you again in the shoes of John Mullins, a Covert Operator trained to execute "Black Ops" in the interests of National and International Security. You work for the shop, which is now a well funded operation compared with the first game, and when a new strain of a genetically modified virus is released in South America, your job is to find out who is behind it all.

I like this game for various reasons. Firstly, the engaging storyline is cleverly crafted to keep you watching the cut screens, to follow the characters and the well executed plot. You play as if you are in an action film, with the twists and everything else that comes in the "film" package.

Another thing is the superb graphics, even on a fairly average computer. I've played it on a 1Ghz system with a 32mb graphics card, and it ran nice and smooth. Both outdoors and in, sceneries are realistically and well produced.

The variety of missions is also huge, from hostage rescue in an airport to quiet infiltration, and due to this, selecting the right weapon is also important, and SOFII has more than enough, although I would have liked to see the Silenced Submachinegun(Mp5sd) incorporated in the single player, but there are other suppressed weapons.

Another thing is AI which is also spot on. Terrorists are active and reactive, and also incredibly dangerous. They will stop you at all costs, and they have the hardware to do it with, are well funded and well trained.

But my favourite thing is the playability, you just can't stop playing this game, it is so engaging and enjoyable. There is also a Random Mission Generator, which gives you a mission, a map, an objective, and you just play.

The multiplayer is incredibly fast and volatile, people are so fast on it. If you stop, you're likely to be on the deck with gunshot wounds within seconds. Hint: keep moving.

All round this game is of an extremely high quality, with nothing sticking out as being the down point of the game, because it is all good. I can't think of anything I didn't like. Plus just look at the price.... come on. You just cant go wrong.

I'm not going to talk about blood and gore, because if you don't like it, you can switch it off.

Very Highly Reccomended

Not bad at all4
First things first- this game has an 18 certificate for a reason, and it really wouldn't be a good idea to let children see (never mind play) this game. Having said that, if you like seeing limbs getting torn off, people lying in pools of blood, then you'll like this.

As for the game play, it's really quite good. The single player game has quite a good story line, which takes you all over the world. The random mission generator is good fun too, and adds hours onto the already huge playability of this game.

Good stuff.

Eat your heart ot Golden eye5
This game could not get any closer to reality than any other game. everyones raving how good the multiplayer side of this game is the biz but for me this is the best single player game i've played. the A.I makes me laugh. if you wound enemies, they accidently drop their weapons and hobble about in pain before picking up their weapon again to take vengence on you. enemies use surroundings to their advantage to try to manourvre you. I've played Golden eye and soldier of fortune 2 gold is more playable due to top noch A.I.

the only possible gripe i found with this game is there is slow down out doors as apposed to in doors but but this does not affect or lessen the enjoyment it brings.

perhaps one day i'll try the multiplayer side to this game. if it,s better, i'll eat my brain.
