Great for intermediates4
Having got plenty of Yoga DVD's I had come to believe that all were predominately aimed at beginners and the most that any more advanced DVD included was salutation to the sun and possibly a shoulder stand.

This one though is definately for an intermediate. It begins with saluation to the sun at a fairly fast pace, adding a few variations and some other standing poses.

It then has an 'inverted poses' section where you are encouraged to try a handstand and headstand (against a wall if necessary).

The back bends include bow, camel and wheel and there are a good number of spinal twists at the end of this section so your back feels re-aligned.

I have given it a 4 simply because it's quite short. The DVD lasts 1 hr 5 mins altogther but after the intro there is about 45mins of yoga including the relaxation. I wish there was a DVD out there at this level that did the full 1 1/2hours worth of yoga practice as now I have a baby I rarely have chance to go to a local yoga class!

Finally - a great dvd for intermediates!5
This DVD really is a breath of fresh air - if you have a morning practice, then the beautiful backdrop of Hawaii will encourage you out of bed (particularly in winter). This is perfectly pitched for intermediates and incorporates snatches of Ashtanga/Power yoga practices which will improve your stamina. The DVD explores more challenging postures, such as Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon) and Sirsasana (Handstand), and more challenging versions of basic postures, such as Trikonasana (Triangle). Rodney Yee's instructions are clear and provide a great dialogue for experienced yogis to follow.

Definitely a must-have for an intermediates and well worth adding to your collection.

This is the best yoga dvd I have come across, it is a good step up from the beginner level and is challenging unlike others I have tried, I love the fact that it has head stands and other more advanced postures, it is fast paced and enjoyable. Definately not for beginners or those looking for a more gently style of yoga but highly recommended for those wanting to progress from the beginner stage and try something a little more challenging.
