Beautifully Balkan!
Throroughly listenable, and a great set of pointers for deeper research into the fascinating and vibrant musical styles and blends of the Balkans. Entertaining, educational, and upbeat. Can't say much better than that!

Overwhelming!
This is just wonderful! I love how Balkan music has so much passion and energy and also how it sounds very similar to Irish music. Taranjkanje by the Marusic Is Trio fom Croatia is a lovely testament to that. I also adore Asfalt Tango by the Romanian band Fanfare Ciocarlia because it is just so full of fiery, passionate rythms and good musicianship.

It is all astonishing stuff but my absolute favourite has to be Hora de la Bolintin by Toni Iordache, he just creates this wonderful, electrifyingly fast dance on the cimbalom(a stringed instrument from Hungary) with ridiculous ease!

All in all, its a masterpiece and a must for any World Music fan.
