Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Eye Candy, the follow up to their debut, Lickin' on Both Sides, isn't as straightforward as it could be for Mis-Teeq. Their debut had the world at its feet--they were simultaneously the garage act with the most crossover appeal and the most credible pop act around; with their mixture of garage vocals and traditional R&B making them a very exciting package.

For Eye Candy, however, things are different. With the garage scene having lost some of its sparkle, and the Sugababes pushing them hard on the cool pop side, it's a tough time for the Mis-Teeq girls. Luckily they've kept Swedish producers extraordinaire Stargate on, plus with their trademark straight forward R&B and a hint of garage courtesy of Alesha's scattergun vocal style. "Scandalous" is a good example, with an evil-sounding bass line welded to the girls' sweetly sung vocals, as is the lively garage pop of "Dance Your Cares Away". This is a slightly more mature work than Lickin' was, though, with tracks such as "Can't Get it Back" showing a sophisticated side that's been missing until now, and recalls an on-form TLC. This is not a quantum leap forward by any means, more confirmation of their rightful place--at the centre of the UK R&B scene. --Chris Blenkarn

eye candy? maybe, not quite ear candy3
This is a good album to listen to if you are not expecting very much from it. Best songs on here are scandalous, dance your cares away, strawberrez (check spelling!) and just for you. The first song , My Song is a total rip-off of Brandy - What about us. The intro is the same computer/enter password combination from Brandy's Full Moon album and TLC's Fanmail album. Everyone accuses Sugababes 'Supernatural' of copying 'What About Us' but this song is a total rip-off. Not as much fun as their first album, it seems they are taking themselves too seriously now. Bring back the garage!

I liked Mis-teeq when they were British, now they are just American as with everybody else.

It's not that I dislike American music...I live here don't I? But I am formally British, and I do appreaciate British music. There ain't much of it here. If I want to listen to American music, I would listen to an American act doing it. I have my pick of them, and I like them. I don't need to listen to a British band trying to emulate them. It's soooooooooo fake!

Sorry girls!

Dont waste your money!!!!!!!!1
I loved Scandalous when they returned and Cant Get It back was a good follow up. I've also liked all Misteeq songs in the past so i decided to buy the album.
But i could not have been more disappointed (or disgusted!)
Scandalous is the only song really worth listening to because Cant Get It Back is a terrible slow version and the rest are just boring as hell!
They only released two songs off the album......that just shows how bad it is! They had to release Style which i dont like (but is better than most on the album!!!)
The worst has to be the duet with Baby Cham! That makes me want to cry cos its so bad!

I hated this album and was ashamed of it (and them) so much that i discarded it from my CD rack!!!

Trust me......do not waste your money!!!
Buy Sugababes instead.....its a billion times better!!
