Editorial Reviews
CD Description
'Faceless' is the third album from Godsmack and the follow up to their 2000 release 'Awake'. With the aid of veteran producer David Bottrill (Tool, King Crimson) and new drummer Shannon Larkin (formerly of Amen), Godsmack have evolved their sound of abrasive hard rock, whilst still retaining enoughmelody to get radio play. Includes the single 'Straight OutOf Line'.

Rock at its Greatest Splender
The latest in the trio instalment is an essential for any metal/nu-metal/rock fan.
Faceless is undoubtedly Godsmack's greatest album yet.
Godsmack display talent on so many levels in 'Faceless' it is untrue; spectacular riffs, crunching vocals and a dominant drum beat.
This album is truly a breath of fresh air amongst the money grabbing collaborative of bands that are clogging the rock genre at the moment and I find that enlightening.
If you are new to the band or even the genre this album is definitely worth picking up as it is tailor made for people with varied tastes looking for something new.
The band themselves sound like a re-arranged Metallica with jolts of Pantera, Slayer and even Cold.
Definitely worth the purchase, you wont be disappointment – 5 Stars!
Godsmack's best album so far
Someone who obviously knows nothing about music has given this album 1 star, i think he or she should go back listening to their Britney Spears records, as this is far to good for them. Any similarities with Alice In Chains stop at the name of the band (it's a classic Alice In Chains song) but they do sound like the mighty Metallica sometimes. Which isn't a bad thing considering that with Metallica releasing some poor albums over the last 6 years (well, poor for their standards), this genre of music needs a new king. It's a superb album with some classic songs such as Realign and Faceless, but in all honesty, every song is a classic. Stop reading this and buy it! Highly recommended.
File under: Essential
I'd heard of Godsmack before but not heard anything by them. Then I heard this at a listening post in my local HMV. 20 minutes later this awesome album was being played VERY loudly on my hi-fi at home and has rarely been out of the CD player since. It launches out of the starting blocks with the tremendous "Straight out of line" (despite the slightly unecessary "One"-style intro) and just gets better and better. The title track is incredible, with seriously crunching riffs and Sully's great vocals, but my favourites are "Changes" (it could almost be Metallica at their VERY finest!) and the blindingly incredible "Re-align". This song has it all: heavy, crunching riffs, awesome drumming, great vocals and... a top tune!
Taken as a whole this album is incredible. Even the weakest track on here is really very good. The balance of songs is great, the consistency of song quality is awe-inspiring, the musicianship is top-notch. Whether you're into nu-metal, heavy rock, or just plain metal, you will love this. If you buy one heavy-rock album this year, buy this.
