Clock Tower 3 follows the story of Alyssa, an ordinary girl who must unlock the mystery of her past and stop the evil powers that have enslaved her ancestors for generations. The game features an unnerving level of realism and an equally intense story line, set in a number of locations through various different eras in which Alyssa must escape various monstrous spirits in order to save herself and the tortured souls of their victims. Unlike other survival-horror titles in which the protagonist relies on an array of weapons, Alyssa must rely on her cunning and guile to evade the clutches of these evil spirits and unravel the puzzles behind each murder. Only then can she summon the sacred weapon necessary to destroy each sinister monster.
As Alyssa's fear grows so does her panic meter, with the result that she becomes harder to control, sometimes even stumbling with the added confusion of the screen blurring. Can she free the trapped souls before the servants of evil stop her? Who is the mysterious Dark Man and what is his connection to the Clock Tower? Can she survive the horror before the clock strikes midnight?

Customer Reviews
Great, if not a little too disturbing.
I found this game in the pre-owned section of a shop, and when i read the back, i thought great! I am a huge fan of Resident Evil, but had never herd of clocktower, and i thought the game may be similar. It is, but not overly. When i put it in my console i thought it was going ok and then after about half an hour there was a movie scene that i found really disturbing, namley a 9 year old girl having her head smashed in by a sledge hammer. Then i got the same treatment from the man. Your character is a girl called Alyssa, who cannot hold weapons until a boss fight, and if she takes too much damage she goes into a panic and is extremely difficult to control. The only enemies are the bosses, but they follow you around persistantly and you have to do a lot before you have a boss battle. The game overall is extremely good but i have to say, it is a 15 for a reason. Do not buy it if you are under 15.
Surprisingly Good Stuff
I'd never heard of this title before I stumbled upon it in a bargain bin and thought I'd give it a go.
As a lover of all things in the horror genre, I personally really enjoyed this game.
The graphics were good (not up to RE4 standards by any means) but good all the same. The controls likewise, were better than the original RE series (ie -when you want to go forward you go FORWARD).
The actual game-play is also pretty good, although you don't actually fight monsters and demons etc., your main purpose is to "survive" by hiding, solving puzzles and setting spirits free. You do have to fight a few bosses as well though. Somewhat like Eternal Darkness, you have a panic meter, and if your character gets overly spooked she will not freak out and freeze!
The story-line, dark atmosphere, eerie music score and general sense of unease really adds up to a very enjoyable game overall.
If you enjoyed Eternal Darkness, Silent Hill and the Resident Evil series, I'd really suggest you give this a go.
I think you may be pleasantly surprised!
Good but not great
I bought Clock Tower three as I absolutely love survival horror so I thought that I would give it a go. I liked the concept of the game, that you play as a 14 year old girl helplessly running around trying to hide with no means of fighting back. I also generally liked the way in which the killers chased you around and I certainly found it to be scary at some points.
However after a while they start to get on your nerves a bit and you find yourself constantly hiding in the same places over and over again. So after a while it gets a bit repetitive.
Saying that, the storylines involved are quite well done and the game is engrossing overall. It is too short though and I am glad that I got it in the sale and did not pay full price for it!
