Amazon.co.uk Review
F-Zero GX is the fastest racing game ever made--no question about it. As the original futuristic racing game it's also one of the most imaginative and fun to boot. For those who don't know, it's a racing game set in the far future--the original F-Zero on the SNES was the original inspiration for Wipeout, but now that Sony's future racing series seems to have run out of steam the stage is set for Nintendo's baby (now developed by Sega) to reclaim its crown.

Instead of boring flat courses you get to zoom around enormous rollercoaster-like tracks, constantly defying gravity and moving at speeds that make any other racer seem static. There are also up to 30 other "cars" on the track at the same time, which makes for an even more unusual and exciting race--especially when you realise you can knock them off to their flaming death at any time.

Another new aspect in the game is the degree to which you can customise your vehicle. You can edit or build from scratch your own car using parts you buy at the in-game shop, then add existing logos or ones you paint yourself to create your own personal speedmobile.

Despite all these original features the one thing F-Zero games have never had is very good graphics, but that's all changed now--GX features some quite stunning backdrops that make the impression of speed and height even more realistic than ever. Add in the four-player mode and this could even rob Mario Kart of its crown for the best next-gen racer around. --David Jenkins

If you like Fast-paced, Challenging and fun games, you'll LOVE this!5
The Frist time I played F-zero GX, I found it ridiculously hard, especially the story mode. That may be a downside, but it consistantly makes you want to try harder and get past whatever obsticle your having trouble with. As soon as you are able to race well and know things such as snaking, the game becomes amazing. The game simply allows the player to accelerate at high speeds and zoom through any winding, dangerous track you play on. If you have ever found the F-Zero X controls difficult, do not worry about these controls. They are simple, easy and make the game more realistic.

Unlocking the F-Zero AX pilots is hard, but a great challenge along with all the other secrets in this game. Story mode is VERY difficult for beginners but keep practicing and trying different stradegies and you will eventually become a pro. Even after I had done the story mode on EXPERT, I still found it amazingly good fun and I would recommend it to anyone.
p.s: Story mode is hard, but Diamond cup on MASTER CLASS is a lot more challenging then the last chapter of story mode on EXPERT

I have been looking for a good futuristic racing game for a while. I liked Extreme G back on the N64. Episode One Racer was good but had some irritating damage system and upgrading system. F-Zero X was absolutely useless, it had no backgrounds and you can't feel speed if you cant see the background go by while your driving. When you're in a 747 you have absolutely no idea how fast 500MPH is when in the air as you can barely see the ground.

First of all F-Zero GX is a technical showcase for the GameCube. Some people (crazy as they are) think the graphics aren't that good due to there being very little antialiasing (this gets rid of the jagged outlines) but what they don't realise is that's only because its running at 60fps without slowdown. Its unlikely even the Xbox could achieve this with antialiasing on. The game is like a roller coaster the backgrounds are large and is absolutely STUNNING to drive around. The size of the tracks is colossal. The controls are sublime and combined with the visual aspect give you a sense of aerodynamics, something other futuristic racers fail to do.

Play this on a 28 inch min Flat wide screen using the RGB cable with 60hz mode on and listen on your surround speakers and sub (Don't think it supports Prologic II though), sit in a comfortable position with the Wavebird controller and this game will make your jaw drop I still feel the sense of wow after playing. Very satisfying and a very enjoyable experience. The first game to actually make me forget I am playing a game. Its doesn't feel real but will make you feel. You'll get it.

Sorry F-Zero fans !!!3
Sorry to disapoint all the F-Zero fans but this game just doesn't quite live up to the original Super Famicom F-Zero. I can't believe people are saying it is so quick or the quickest game ever, Mario Kart is quicker, Need for Speed Underground is quicker, even V-Rally is quicker !!!
The overall package is good, smooth graphics, ok sound, infuriatingly tricky, but it simply isn't that fast !!!
Overall its a good game, but it truly ain't that quick.
