The American Football sim, Madden NFL Football is now in its 14th year and there have been some new features added to the latest instalment, Madden NFL Football 2004. The revolutionary Playmaker Control lets gamers adjust on the fly just as NFL players do. Use the right stick to quickly change plays, routes or defensive coverage. After the snap, use the right stick to call out blocks and direct receivers and make quick adjustments on defense.
Madden NFL Football 2004 also adds Deep Owner Mode, where you can take over the full bottom line responsibilities of the owner in addition to the GM, coach and player duties in Franchise Mode. Features include relocating your team and building a new stadium and setting all prices including food, merchandise and parking. With the addition of the assistant coach licence, gamers can even hire their own coaching staffs.
As well as these new features the game boasts improved graphics and sound, a stadium builder, online play (for the PS2) and playbooks that are packed with information directly from NFL Coaches via the NFLCA license. All of which goes to make it one of the most realistic Gridiron sims out there.

Madden 2004
Well, the folks at EA Sports have done it again. They have made a superb series even better than before. Madden 2004 is the ultimate Gridiron game, it will not be beaten(until Madden 2005 that is.) As always, the graphics are unbelievable and the movement is perfect. The gameplay has somehow improved and made the game feel even more closer to home. You feel every hit, you feel the defence bearing down on you, and you can taste the smell of success every time you hit that end zone. The rosters are up to date with all your favourites returning.
The brand new Playmaker control makes the game more fun to play and can help you bust big gains or make that crucial interception. You can block any free defenders, can change routes on pass and running plays in an instant, without the defence even knowing. On defence, you can drop back into deep coverage or you can rush everyone to bring down the running back. It does exactly what the name suggests, make plays. Also new to this incredible game is Owner Mode, where you have complete control over your football team. You can set ticket prices, hire and fire coaching staff, look at team income/expenditure, change your stadium and relocate your team. Oh, and you can change hamburger prices as well! You are in complete control of the team and feel more of a part of the organization.
Well, all I have to say to any budding American Football fan-buy this game! It is worth your hard earned cash and will keep you entertained for months on end.
Madden rocks NFL!
Being an American i'm a great fan of NFL and got Madden 2004 thinking it would be as good as the others. I was not suprised! Madden is definately one of the best football games ever made and shortly put so i dont bore you with details, it's a fantastic game ans a must buy for football fans!
Madden 2004 - What a Play!!
My first taste of Madden was in 2002. I have since been hooked. I bought the 2003 game and have now added the 2004 version to my collection. It just keeps getting better!
The Owner Mode adds a new and exciting dimension to the monotonous old style Franchise Mode. The Play Maker control system is a revolution, allowing you to avoid the sack on 4th down or block the advancing linebacker as you squeeze through for the Superbowl winning touchdown.
As far as the actual match playing goes, it is much improved. It is far more realistic. When playing defence, the opposition QB is far more intelligent than in previous years. When playing offence, the defence reads plays if you continually repeat your favourite pass or run plays.
In many ways it is harder to suceed than in previous versions of Madden, but that adds to the longativity of the game and means you have to keep playing in order to finally win that Superbowl.
