CD Description
'Jackpot' is the debut album by Chingy, who hails from St Louis in America's South, also the home to fellow rapper Nelly. Produced by the upcoming Trak Starz the album has a Neptunes-esque feel with dirty Southern beats and Chingy's Southern drawl style of rapping. The album also features guest appearances from Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, and Jermaine Dupri.

Chingy Review
I was first introduced to Chingy with 'Right Thurr', sadly the album doesn't live up to the quality of that song. In general, it is a very average album with quite a repetitve style of music. Other strong songs on the album include, 'Holidae Inn' which I'd give 4 out of 5, and 'One Call Away', which has a strong consistent beat. Other then that Chingy continues with a consistent almost second rate Nelly Style. I Would only go out and buy this Album if you are a devoted fan. But to put it simply, Chingy, with this album will stay in the shadow of his St.Lious compatriot Nelly.
More mixed feelings than a bowlful of PMS...
I do not want to like this album. If Eazy-E could see what the voice of rap has become he'd prefer the grave. But despite the commericial G Unit esque production using synth throughout, the album is one of those that is fantastic to play from beginning to end at a house party or some easy listening. Chingy comes across as a pimp, with hundreds of 'hos' nationwide. Sadly for him, he isn't...so it's just a load of front. His voice though somewhat annoying is original and catchy, and his flow is pretty precise for a St. Louis rapper. His lyrics are repetetive apart from on 'Holidae Inn' featuring his running-buddy Ludacris and his seeming role model, Snoop Dogg; and 'One Call Away', which are not only fantastic songs on the album, fantastic songs full stop.
I still listen to this album now because for semi-enthusiastic rap fans it's not bad...fun to listen to, but I'm disappointed at myself for admitting so.
But if you're using 'Powerballin'' as a template for this...dear God no...this is tenfold what his latest 19 track effort is, this is proper Glam-Rap at its fullest, and I love it!
...Ashamedly.
Middle of the road
This album may not be as good as Kanye West debut album but he has done well enough to warrant a second album. All the singles that he released are quality and it has other stand out tracks which have not been released. Best tracks are One Call Away and Juice.
