Amazon.co.uk Review
If a dog simulator doesn't sound all that much fun to you, think again: Dog's Life is just about the best thing to hit the PS2 in years. Admittedly it's an odd sell, and knowing that it's been developed by one of the guys responsible for 80s classic Elite quite frankly just adds to the strangeness.

In any case, you control Jake, the wisecracking mutt; the nominal goal of the game is to rescue your canine girlfriend from the city pound. Most of the game involves your wandering around a variety of locales, both city-based and in the countryside, worrying sheep, taking part in mini-games such as the Peeing Game (nice) and helping out humans with unlikely sounding fetch-and-carry tasks.

One of the highlights of the game is the smellovision view, which allows you to see the world from a dog's point of view. In this first-person (or first-dog) view you can also "see" smells, which you can collect for bonuses, and trigger various new tasks and games. It also allows you to track scents via footprints, which is rather cool and vitally important for many missions.

If you want to just wander off doing your own thing, you can though, and once you learn the right button combinations for various tricks and, erm... going for a number two, it's almost as much fun just doing that and seeing who you can annoy. Barbara Woodhouse is no doubt turning in her grave. --David Jenkins

"An intriguingly different game... pleasant to play and full of character."

Manufacturer's Description
Dog's Life is an all-new 3-D action-adventure in which players become Jake, a mischievous young dog who finds himself embroiled in an evil dog-napping plot. An epic quest to track down his best friend Daisy takes Jake all the way across the US from his home in the sleepy Mid-West countryside, through scenic ski resorts, all the way to a bustling metropolis. Along the way Jake uncovers a sinister plot, hatched by the pooch-loathing Miss Peaches. As the adventure progresses, Jake matures from a lazy puppy into a true hero.

EXCELLENT GAME5
This game is quite unique you play as a dog, you have smellovision which enables you to see scents in different colours. There are so many per part of town to collect and then you play sub games when you have collected them all. It`s Excellent, you race dogs, have peeing contests, save kittens. Your ultimate goal is to collect bones from these sub games. Anyway onto the review we loved it and we`re not exactly young. Lots to do, not too hard to move on to next stage. It` a brilliant game. Buy it, for young and old.

Best game ever?!5
I bought this game a while ago and couldn't wait to play it! As soon as I got home, the disk was in the PS2 and I was away. I found this game really good - good graphics, good gameplay, good EVERYTHING! I was glad I had bought it (although I had to spend £30 on it - making my money reach nil afterwards) and I still love playing it now. The three different places (Clarksville, Lake Mini Wa Wa and Boom City) are huge and full of mini-games, bones and other dogs!

I found the discovery on the last level quite disturbing... Imagine a seemingly-nice woman like Miss Peaches who turns out to be a mean old witch turning dogs into... (Find out what - PLAY THIS GAME!)

My favourite place is the Dog Pound - the game developers made it look really intimidating and scary - red sky, owls hooting, crows cawing, dogs trapped in cages, and not to mention the dog catcher's dog chasing after you! I have only one word for those who haven't got this game... BUY, BUY, BUY!

SO COOL!!!5
A few days ago, I was feeling stressed after a hard day at College, so I did what most woman do best to cheer themselves up, I went shopping. I went into my favourite game-shop and spotted 'Dog's Life' on the shelf. I've had my eye on this game for quite a while and decided that it was time to purchase it. I've never regretted it since.

For anyone who's looking for a wonderfully exciting, entertaining, highly addictive, heroic, detective-like game (I think you get the idea...LOL), look no further. 'Dog's Life' is definitely the game for you...especially if you love dogs. I don't want to spoil it for you so I'll only give you a brief description...

The story begins with a cool, care-free dog named Jake who's happily enjoying a dog's life when his girlfriend Daisy is dognapped. Jake is caught too while attempting to rescue her. However, because the door had not been shut properly, his cage fell out, allowing him to escape and begin his mission to rescue Daisy.

The animation and graphics are spectacular with lots of funny and interesting characters. As you explore your surroundings, whether it be country, city or snowy mountains, you must use your nose (hey, you are a dog after all) to track down all types of different scents. To challenge and defeat other dogs in funny games like peeing, pooing, racing, digging, tug-of-war and especially to learn new tricks, you must collect as many bones as you can find while helping people and racing to rescue Daisy at the same time.

In my personal opinion, I feel that Jake is exactly like a male version of Lassie. While he's trying to rescue his top priority, he also has to help other people and dogs along the way.

This game's got an excellent and beautiful soundtrack to accompany every scene. In addition, I was impressed by the really creepy music near the end of the game during the dog-pound scene.

You simply MUST buy this game! You'd be crazy not to. I found this game so exciting and addictive that I have twice stayed up until 1am - 2am in the morning just to play it...(*_*)/"
