EverQuest II will offer gamers a new experience in massively multi-player online role-playing games (MMORPGs) and sets new standards in graphical realism as players are immersed in the game's powerful epic story line with thousands of players online. Based 500 years after the original EverQuest, EverQuest II is a new and different game experience in a world marred by a fantastic life-changing event. Players enter this world by creating their own unique character from 16 races and 48 classes and using a powerful facial customisation system for unprecedented player individuality. Players will encounter hundreds of creatures as they travel across the majestic landscape of rolling hills, barren deserts, dense forests and bustling cities. Thousands of new items, hundreds of new spells and unlimited adventure await all who enter the world of EverQuest II.
EverQuest II is set in the world of Norrath, which revisits familiar locales as well as introduces a number of newly discovered areas. There will be unparalleled character customisation capabilities. In addition to the ability to gain thousands more pieces of armour, weapons and items, players will be able to customise their face, age, skin tone, eye and hair colour. A new addition is that players will be able to own real estate such as apartments, homes and guild houses and even control ships.

Word of warning
DON'T BUY THIS VERSION!
The European version of Desert of Flames includes the entire EQ2 client - you'd be better off getting that as you'll get the game + expansion.
If you want friends in the real world, don't buy this game!
I started playing EQ2 almost 2 years ago and I still love this game!
Not only is it huge (and constantly growing), but it is endlessly replayable. Although the original game will keep you occupied for a long time, I would recommend holding out for the next expansion as it will doubtless include everything else that came before it, for the same price.
A couple of warnings -
This game has cost me an absolute fortune as I have upgraded my system significantly since buying it. It runs just fine with a standard set up (1GB ram is the big must-have), but who wants to miss the gorgeous sunsets in the Commonlands and the swishing of their Warlock's robes as they run away from maurauding Orcs because they are running their graphics at lower settings to reduce lag?
Secondly, I no longer have any real life friends, as all of my spare time is spent playing this game.
If you like adventure, exploring stunning landscapes, killing innocent badgers & staying up all night in front of your computer, then you must buy this game.
Please bear in mind that there is a monthly subscription fee.
Very fun game
I find this game extremely fun, there is alot of content in the game which will keep you busy for months.
It is ideal for both Solo and group play, the adventure packs (mini expansions) can keep entertained in a challenging enviroment which is adjusted to your level. You can do many of the instances solo or tackle some of the harder, heroic instances in small groups.
The game is huge and beautiful and looks almost life like.
I have played alot of online games in the past few years and for me this is the one I would recommend.
If your new to MMORPG then you will love the trial of the isle tutorial.
What I love about this game is the amount of things you can do, you can go exploring, craft fantastic items, own your own home complete hundreds and hundreds of quests, comepete against other players in combat, this game has everything that a MMORPG should have and in my opinion is the best out there at the momement.
