In the breezy Maid in Manhattan, a maid in a top-flight hotel (Jennifer Lopez) chances to dress in a guest's clothes just when a handsome political candidate (Ralph Fiennes) walks in. Naturally, he's bowled over and pursues her; he's initially drawn to her gorgeous good looks but soon comes to appreciate her honesty and common sense. Of course, she can't let him know that she's only a maid, and various high jinks ensue--it's all pretty formulaic, but lurking in the edges of this glossy, brainless romance are a wealth of sly turns by Natasha Richardson and Amy Sedaris (as callow socialites), Bob Hoskins (as a dignified butler), Stanley Tucci (as Fiennes' exasperated campaign manager), and many less familiar faces. Marisa Ventura is a single mother born and bred in the boroughs of New York City, who works as a maid in a first-class Manhattan hotel. In a case of mistaken identity, Marisa meets Christopher Marshall (Ralph Fiennes), the heir to a political dynasty, who believes that she is a guest at the hotel. Fate throws the unlikely pair together for a magical night of romance. Very sweet
Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes star in this modern-day fairytale about a single mother named Marisa Ventura (Jennifer Lopez) who is a maid in a posh hotel in Manhattan.
But one day, her son, Ty, bumps into senatorial candidate Christopher Marshall (Ralph Fiennes) who meets Marisa and mistakes her for a wealthy socialite. After an enchanting evening together, the two fall madly in love.
But how long can Marisa lie to Christopher?
This is a very sweet film which is perfect for a girly night in.

Honesty and integrity
I don't normally watch movies so famous actors mean nothing to me. I judge by what I see and this really wowed me. The story of a Maid giving on to temptation and wearing clothes way above her station; of her resultant romance; discovery, and finally her honesty with him, and her willingness to start a new job again from the bottom really was moving. Her reward at the end was beautifully done. A lovely, gentle movie, nothing objectionable in it at all (and I'm pretty fussy) and one I will watch again and again1

Chick flick
If you like Jennifer Lopez then you'll like this film. I enjoyed the film however i have seen films simular to it for example 'a walk in the part'and 'pretty woman'. Its a good film to sit and watch with the girls.
