Manufacturer's Description
Sonic Battle brings furious combat action to the Game Boy Advance, as Sonic and his friends set out to determine which one of them is really the best fighter. Choose from eight characters such as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Choose the arena, set the rules, customise your special attacks, and then engage in non-stop battles. With three types of special attacks, as well as Ground, Aerial and Defence fighting techniques, you can customise your character to suit your fighting style. You'll also need to strategically plan and execute your attacks to take full advantage of each character's unique abilities. Up to four friends can link their systems together using the Game Boy Advance Game Link cable for team battles, and then combine special attacks into devastating combos. If you prefer to battle solo, work through the Story Mode to develop your own AI fighting partner. Either way, Sonic Battle is the ultimate showdown between Sonic and his friends.

Not sonic!2
This different take on sonic is poor! Why...

Poor graphics

Useless game play-your best off 'button-bashing'

Repetitive and tedious

Frankly it's boring

Lets down sonic games! Does not live upto the reputation previous Sonic games earned!

Sonic Battle - A Great game, but has some drawbacks4
I'm a massive Sonic fan, and this game was no dissapointment. The plot is interesting, the chacters are varied and fun to play, and the graphics are excellent.
But it did have some bad points - for one, it's all battling or moving (by moving a cursor around te screen) to different areas so you can get to a battle. It gets boring easily, and often you'll have battles straight after another.
The opponent A.I. level is constantly changing, making some battles difficult.
Emerl, with her changable attacks, is an interesting character. She fun to customize, but this can lead to frustration when you battle the one character 20 times and don't et the card you need. I ended up using a gameshark out of frustration, which really spoiled the game.
Another interesting character was Cream - in most of the battles where she's your partner, she doesn't fight. It's interesting, having a pacifist for a battle partner.

SPOILER!!!

Another thing that bugs me is the ending. Basically, when you're finished, you're treated to some great scenes which I won't spoil, then Tails appears then says fighting is bad. At the end of a battle game. Not only does it sound lame, but it goes against the whole game!

END SPOILER!!

Basically, this was a great game, and despite some niggling problems, it enjoyed it. Even after the main game is completed, there special battles and mini games (the best ones are multiplaer, unfortunatly). It's well worth getting!

Sonic Battle4
This is possibly the greatest Sonic release on GBA! You can choose from eight characters, and one mystery fighter to unlock. You can choose to battle with your friends, or against the other fighters in the Challenge, or play in Story Mode to stop the plans of the evil Eggman in his newest quest to rule the world! This game is recommended to anyone, especially because of the 3D fighting Arenas, never before seen on GBA!
