Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Howls of rage greeted Dylan as he presented the world with folk rock--he was roundly booed at both the Newport Folk Festival and the Royal Albert Hall. Yet here is one of those moments of cross-influence that changed the course of popular music. BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME gave His Bobness an audience on a plate; it was a massive breakthrough. An album of twodifferent sides, acoustic (his past) and electric (his future), it contains milestones in the blues-rockers "Maggie's Farm" and "Subterranean Home Sick Blues", the future Byrds hit "Mr. Tambourine Man", and the transcendently poetic "It's Alright, Ma". You can debate the "is it folk or is it rock" arguement forever. It's merely Dylan at one of his many peaks.

Customer Reviews

Dylan's electric debut reborn...5
This is the album that gave "Dylan" his first top ten album when it was orginally released in 1965.
Much to the horror of his hardcore folk following "Dylan" had plugged in his guitar and then became popular with the masses.

This version of the album is a "hybrid" disc,(which means that it has 2 layers of data one layer to play on a standard C.D. player and another to play on SACD players)the re-mastering that has been done is in a word spectacular.
Gone is the hiss that plagued the previous pressing on C.D. songs like "Subterranean Homesick Blues", "Maggie Farm",Gates of Eden","Mr Tambourine Man" (famously covered by "The Byrds") and "It's All Over Now,Baby Blue" sound like they were recorded yesterday and not nearly 40 years ago,you can now hear all the lyrics and "Dylans" inflections on lines of the songs that he wants to bring to the listener's attention.

This album shows not only is "Bob Dylan" a great singer song writer but probably the greatest performing poet of our times...
