Product Description

Third album from socially-conscious LA hip-hop crew following 2000's 'Bridging The Gap'. With a sophisticated production and an inclusivity that encompasses everything from ragga and disco to Latin funk and metal guitar, this is an unabashed, booty-shaking party record. The album includes collaborations with Justin Timberlake, Papa Roach and the legendary Sergio Mendes and is the first to feature BEP's new female member Fergie.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Black Eyed Peas have at times been accused of sounding too Tribe for their own good, but this time out Will.i.am and crew have consciously expanded their horizons. Problem is, perhaps they've tried too hard. As the title suggests, Elephunk borrows from every single element of funk known to man and (with the exception of the one straight-out rock & roll track, "Anxiety") tries to cram them all into a semi-hip-hop format. While such willingness to experiment is admirable, in this case the attempt comes off as slightly desperate and too diffuse. Elephunk settles itself into a groove when BEP's newest member Fergie's lush girlie vocals are allowed to dominate, as they do on the discofied "The Boogie That Be." --Rebecca Levine, Amazon.com

I really like some of the old tracks on here. I have recently bought black eyed peas monkey buisness (check my review on that) elephunk has more funk and hip hop music. Monkey buisness is a variety of music. anyway my fave track on here is boogie that be. this cd just arrived today . well im stopping writing now by.

Fly Away - It Smells Like Funk!!4
I first bought this after playing Urbz Sims in the City... before that I hadn't liked the Black Eyed Peas, and true, when I bought this I thought - nah, don't like it... then I replayed it and I'm like "actually, this is pretty good!"
The Peas have a very raw, hip hop sound on this album, and is the closest they get to their older sound, with Fergie. Tracks like Fly Away, Third Eye and Shut Up really capture the unique sound of her voice... very catchy, definitely one for Black Eyed Peas fans... more Hip Hop than their recent R&B, Pop, mainstream work found on Monkey Business

9/10 - excellent!

good, but not brilliant4
i liked bep's second album, but this is just that slight bit better. it features tighter lyrics and better beats, which make a really positive effect on this album. will.i.am is not the best lyricist ever but his skills show on shut up and where is the love. the latter being a very emotional track, and it is quite moving. the video is top quality. most of the tracks on here are very good, anxiety beimg brilliant. But latin girls really lets the album down.
this is not the classic many believe, but still worth buying.
