Customer Reviews

Give this one a chance!4
If you are expecting any guitar at all this one is not for you. I got this and Blue Street(Five Guitars) at the same time. I found it hard to believe Chris Rea would do an album with no guitar whatsoever. I find its unexpected sound quite interesting. Its a lazy day kick back and relax kind of music. As a so so bassist I find myself loving this. Mellow and cool more fits this than the word boring. One listen will not get you into this. Also note the CD is 50 minutes not 73. Look at the time remaining on your CD player.

Such a disappointment after Blues Street.1
If you enjoyed Blues Street (Five Guitars) and if track 1 is your favourite, then this album is just for you. The CD never moves on even when it ends.
I was so impressed with Blues Street and how it progressed through the CD, I had to replay it straight away. That is a great album.
Hofner Notes whilst appearing to be a companion to that album, was so disappointing.
Sorry Chris, this is the duff one of the three (when you include Dancing Down The Stoney Road).
I usually don't bother with negative criticism but this was SO boring.
To end on a positive note, the art work is brilliant and I like the presentation of these two Jazzee B albums. Keep it up!

grow to love4
I understand the previous review as at first this album can seem lacking in variety. But listen again and in the right move and this is a great album.
To my surpise it is a great driving album - has more energy than you may at first credit.
The melodies are subtle but they are there and once you find them you seek them out again.
The fusion of sweet piano and the bass is divine.
I would like to hear another album like this!!
