Customer Reviews

An excellent behind the scenes look at the Williams Formula 1 racing team5
In some ways the title is a misnomer. Rather it should have been a view of Formula 1 through the prism of the Williams team although to be fair it does include the history of Formula 1 from its pre WW2 days when Mercedes Benz convincingly swept the field to the ascension of the Italians post WW2. The era of the British dominance of the sport only occurred in the 1960's & is only now in decline.

This DVD is not about the races but rather the technology, the management - Frank Williams & Bernie Eccolstone - & the sponsorship which makes it possible. For all those interested in Formula 1 this is an excellent behind the scenes expose of the technology - tyres, aerodynamics, engines. This was the reason for the British dominance - the attention to detail as opposed to their previous enthusiastic amateur attitude before WW2. One soon realises that vast teams of dedicated & hard working staff are required to continually find innumerable ways to cut an extra second off a lap.

Overall this is an excellent DVD & well worth purchasing
