CD Description
Debut release from London based rock outfit, Jetplane Landing. 'Zero For Conduct' is a mix of highly charged emo-punk and quiet post-rock experimentation. The early singles, 'ThisIs Not Revolution Rock' and 'Tiny Bombs' are included.
Customer Reviews
Excellent
A very good debut from Jetplane Landing, containing punchy indie singles 'This is not Revolution Rock,' and 'Summer Ends.'
The album is a little different from their second (and best) full length album; the phenomenal 'Once Like a Spark.'
The Best songs are 'What the arguement has changed,' and 'Interstate Five,' but then again, the whole album is pretty solid and its hard to find a bad song.
A lighter, less complex album than its successor but still amazing. Enjoyable to no end, every JPL fan should own this.
Pick up 'Els Quatre Gats,' too.
Zero For Conduct
This album is like nothing I have heard before. I discovered Jetplane Landing as a result of their sucessful single 'I Opt Out' from the album 'Once Like a Spark'. I bought 'Once Like a Spark', and it was addictive. I had to hear more of Jetplane Landing and I was pleasantly surprised to find that their debut had recieved a 5 star review from Kerrang, which does not come easily. I bought 'Zero for Conduct' and was surprised by how different it sounded to their second album. It was different, but was and still is one of the best debuts I have heard. Jetplane Landing are a strong, and upcoming new talent.
The album experiments with various different sounds, and is sucessful throughout. The sound of 'Summer ends' for example is very different to that of 'End of the night'. Andrew Ferris' vocals are very interesting; on some songs they are quite soft, while on others they are powerful and coarse. The lyrics are thoughtful, and the choruses are catchy. Jetplane Landing have a completely unique sound, and for those who can appreciate it, this album is amazing. Kerrang's description of Zero for Conduct' as 'a masterpiece' is not wrong. If you wan't to hear something slightly different to the mainstream this album is for you.
The Jet Plane Lands Again
This album, the debut of their trilogy, is amazing - its beautiful to listen too and i like the colour orange, - buy this album - NOW - if you want to
