Manufacturer's Description
If You Don't Have Diskeeper, your Computer Isn't Running As Fast As It Could Be.

How Disk Fragmentation Slows Your Computer Down
No matter how much free space you have on your hard drive, when you install programs, save files, make revisions or otherwise write to your hard drive, files are fragmented to make room. Your computer can accumulate hundreds of thousands, even millions of fragments very quickly. Accessing data gets slower and slower because the hard disk has to read more and more fragments. How fast could you read a shredded document?

The Big Bottleneck
Your computer's speed basically depends upon three components: The computer chip (fastest), the memory or RAM (fast) and your hard drive (a million times slower than RAM!). Even a little hard disk fragmentation is noticeable. But when fragmentation accumulates, you start looking for a new computer.

Your Computer Is Incomplete Without Diskeeper
Automatic defragmentation is the only way to keep your computer running fast. Manual defragmenters can't keep up and are incomplete. Diskeeper is the fastest and most recommended automatic defragmenter ever built. Install Diskeeper and never worry about fragmentation related performance issues ever again!

New in Diskeeper 8.0:

  • Fast, simple interface to all Diskeeper features
  • Evaluates the condition of your disk against documented factors Designed from the ground up for high efficiency with Windows XP Home Edition and earlier operating systems
  • See actual graphs of performance gains your computer achieved
  • Smart Scheduling automatically monitors fragmentation levels and customizes defrag runs (without using a lot of system resources) so that you don't have to think about it
  • Increases your computer's speed up to 200% or more and keeps it there!
  • Much faster and far more thorough than built-in defragmentation.

    Diskeeper never sleeps...
It just lies in wait until fragmentation occurs. All you do is Set It and Forget It and Diskeeper is on duty. You can continue to use your computer while Diskeeper is running. Thanks to advanced technology, Diskeeper makes sure your computer has all the speed it needs while you are working and uses what's left for defragmentation. There is no need to worry about the safety of your files when this happens because Diskeeper is the only 100% safe, online disk defragmenter.

You can even set Diskeeper to activate whenever your screensaver comes on. This means that when you step out for coffee, Diskeeper moves like lightning and starts defragmenting your computer. And when you return, it's as if Diskeeper had never been there.

And all this occurs without your attention.

    Tangible results4
I've downloaded a version of this software to try and it has made a significant difference to the speed of my PC. I'm so impressed with the results that I'm ordering a boxed version from Amazon (cheaper than purchasing from the manufacturer!)

Fortunately I haven't suffered the same problems as one of the other reviewers. I would recommend this product with the proviso that one takes care installing it and downloads any updates prior to use.

    Chaos Unleashed1
From the magazine review I had read, this software seemed to be exactlywhat I needed to maintain my computer's hard drive. The main draws wereits speed of operation and it was not upset by virus guard programs'activities that often cause the Windows defragmenter to restart. Therewas an inference of friendly co-existence with ones AV program.
The cruel reality was that my AV program was trashed and it took a week torestore my machine to its previous working condition. In the meantime, anupgrade to my antivirus solution had cost me a further thirty-five pounds! I was sweating as to whether I could get a university assignment typed intime for submission using the machine afflicted by this software.
I have since been contacted by Executive Software for my opinions on theirproduct. I have told them I have removed it and won't risk re-introducingit. It turns out the AV-trashing symptom was known about and could becaused by a disc error!
You might not have the same sort of expensive experience as I did - atleast one magazine reviewer raves about this program - but, if you are dueto do anything important with your machine, for the sake of your sanityand your blood pressure, my advice is leave this software on the shelf. It's the second most destructive program I have willingly introduced to mymachine in 19 years of computing.
